The old version of GTA is up in years and new project game GTA6 is on the wish list. The launch of it is a question of time. But fans are restless and Rockstar are quiet as a church mouse when it comes to official announcements.

Seems like the releasing of Red Dead Redemption 2 in October is the center of attention. News about GTA 6 are not showing up and looks like it needs additional years. Fans are in a tense but it will be well worth the wait. Getting down to the facts, GTA 5 accumulated more than 10 billion revenue and sold over 90 million copies. So they prepare the way to a huge success. It has also very busy putting an effort in the online mode of Grand Theft Auto 5. And was predicted to update it for the following years.

GTA 6 Major locations and secret agenda

A little bird whispered the production started in 2016 and will appear for the public in 2022. This would be the longest gap between GTA titles ever. The possible locations are Chicago, 70s Vegas, Mexico and on the list was also Tokyo. But by reason of their cultural issues and complicated road system, the plan was laid aside. The rumors was sustained also by a famous Youtube channel ‘The Know,’ that told the locations will be South America and Vice City. But there is no official date of which it could be released.

Despite this statement, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still months away, so we can imagine that the developer decided to work on GTA 6 as well. In the same occasion, the insider added that possible locations for GTA 6 are Chicago, Mexico City, Las Vegas and Detroit.

Reliable sources say that huge games like GTA 6 take a lot of time to be developed. This is one of the reasons that create such time gaps between the launch of one version and the following one.

A female protagonist is a cherry on the cake

Another leak claims that one of the most exciting features within GTA 6 is the existence of a female protagonist. This addition is according to the players’ options. Now they will have the opportunity to choose their main character from several figures; one of these figures will be a female. Since its release in September 2013, GTA 5 has been nothing but a success. The game has a large group of fans and its popularity doesn’t seem to decrease with passing time. With the later addition of GTA 5 Online, a multiplayer version of the game, Rockstar received countless rave reviews.

The success of GTA 5 Online

The growing demand for the new title of the GTA series amongst fans is not a surprise. Especially considering the fact that it’s been five years already since GTA 5 was introduced. The continuously high level of popularity of GTA 5 Online also makes it more likely that Rockstar will want to take advantage of it and significantly increase the company’s profit.

For now, the publisher is trying to keep GTA 5 Online as fresh and enjoyable as possible, by releasing new updates and content from time to time. At the moment, this seems to work just fine and the game still attracts new players. However, it is expected that in the following years this trend will be reversed, which will leave no choice for Rockstar but to release GTA 6.

We have no doubts that it will take a significant amount of time to develop a game at least as good as GTA 5. But how long exactly will we have to wait?

Estimated release date

The fans of the GTA series have been speculating about the possible release date of GTA 6. Judging by the way Rockstar usually launches its new titles, this would most likely be either 2020 or 2021. However, since the amount of work required to surpass GTA 5 has to be enormous, we would say that 2022 is the safest prediction.

So far, we haven’t heard anything from Rockstar that could give us a hint regarding the estimated release date of GTA 6. We hope that the producer will give us some kind of update on GTA 6 in the near future, especially since there seems to be a strong curiosity amongst fans.

The big release still waits

Grand Theft Auto 6 should be released sometime in 2021 – 2022. Although that date seems very distant, it is important to note that in the past, around five years, a new Grand Theft Auto has been built.

During the development period, the same source drew attention to the fact that the game is titled Project Americas. It is only when the launch and online trailer arrives that it will be renamed Grand Theft Auto 6. The action of the future game will be played equally in the United States and South America. GTA 6 is definitely one of the most anticipated games in the history of gaming. After the success of GTA 5, the expectations are quite high. However, there aren’t any official details available yet, which means that we have to rely on rumours and speculations.

Vice City might be back

Some rumours seem to indicate that Vice City might make a comeback in Grand Theft Auto 6. Since the game series started there, it would be a nice touch to take us back to the beginning, while also offering us an enhanced version of Vice City.

Female characters

Having a female character is something that fans wanted for a long time. We had some great male heroes, but it might be time for a change. In fact, we did not even have female supporting characters since Grand Theft Auto 3.

Rockstar considered this option in the past, and this might finally be the moment when the company takes this decision. There is a chance that they decide to surprise us and come up with a female lead character.

Removed songs

The FM station from GTA will be removed. Rockstar representatives explained that due “to music licensing restrictions, we are required to remove certain songs from the in-game soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto IV and its Episodes, in particular a large portion of the Russian pop station, Vladivostok FM.”
