Samsung Galaxy S10, Note 9 and iPhone 9 to Come with Gorilla Glass 6

Gorilla Glass 6 has been officially announced overnight by Corning, preparing a new, highly resilient material to protect mobile phone screens around the world. Corning provides front-end protection panels for screens from a variety of manufacturers, from Apple to Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus, Sony etc., and Gorilla Glass 6 could take place in the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the iPhone 11.

Gorilla Glass 6 is the most durable protection for smartphone screens, as has happened with every version released to date by Corning, but it remains to be seen if the promises are real. Gorilla Glass 6 should provide protection for phone screens, even if they are dropped up to 15 times on a hard surface from a height of up to 1 meter, offering protection 2 times better than Gorilla Glass 5.

“Gorilla Glass 6 is an entirely new glass composition that can be chemically strengthened to give it significantly higher levels of compression than is possible with Gorilla Glass 5. This enables Gorilla Glass 6 to be more resistant to damage. Moreover, with breaks during drops being a probabilistic event, the added compression helps increase, on average, the likelihood of survival through multiple drop events.”

Some say it could reach Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but the chances of this happening are little, the iPhone 11 and the Samsung Galaxy S10 being more likely to be protected by it. Apple, unlike Samsung and Huawei, does not confirm that it uses Corning solutions to protect iPhone screens, but also invested in the US company, and will certainly use Gorilla Glass 6 in its phones.

2018’s budget iPhone: iPhone 9 vs. iPhone SE2

iPhone SE2 is eagerly awaited by tech lovers on a budget and can even overcome the actual iPhone SE. They have been waiting since the release of its predecessor in March 2016. It is still up in the air however it will be named.

iPhone SE 2 features that are downgraded

A confirmation that the iPhone SE2 will be getting only a single rear camera was stated by a trusted leaks deliverer and case maker, Ghostek. Unfortunately, Forbes says it is a downgrade considering iPhone X’s dual cam, but it still excites buyers looking for a cheaper iPhone, whatever its drawback. The price is said to start from 400$.

It is also reported that the OLED screen will not be a feature of iPhone 9.  Furthermore, there will be no 3D touch functionality but an LCD screen. As a compensation, free wire charging is introduced.

Express says that the current iPhone design is supposed to remain the same opposing iPhone X’s bezel-less structure and the possible integration of Face ID is not in the plan.

Mr. Miller said: “Apple committed WWDC that the last five generation of devices will support iOS 12 and a new iPhone SE would support that as well. However, there are going to be compromises around screen size, camera performance and memory configuration (note the current SE only supports 32GB and 128GB versus the 64GB and 256 GB on the iPhone X).”

The iPhone SE 2 release is uncertain

The unknown date of SE 2’s publication is a drawback but earlier this year, announcing it in the Worldwide Developers Conference 2018 was expected of Apple. Different opinions about the release date are stated by multiple sources.

iPhone 9 Release Date Delayed Because Of Production Problems

iPhone 9 is about to have a late launch compared to iPhone X 2018, having problems with manufacturing the cut-off LCD that it wants to use this year.

The information comes from the Asian publication Nikkei, this being the second to announce that production for iPhone 9 will begin later than the one for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Plus, so there might be some truth in this.

iPhone 9 is set to have the final components just delivered in August at Foxconn factories where they are going to be assembled a month later than those that will be used to produce Apple’s iPhone 11. The one month delay between initiating production for the two iPhone models is not unusual if Apple has production problems and what we are hearing about iPhone 9 is not really new, similar information being offered about iPhone X in 2017.

iPhone 9 was initially announced for launch in the autumn of 2018, but it seems it will arrive in October or even November on the market, if Apple’s partners are able to solve problems with the manufacture of LCD screens. It is unclear what affects the production of LCD screens for iPhone 9 in 2018, but it does not matter, because if Apple does not have components, in the end, they can not make the phones. On the other matter, we already know for some time that iPhone 9 will have an enhanced three-camera setup and top AR features.

iPhone 9 Leak – How Will The New Phone Look Like?

If you’re an Apple fan, then you’ll definitely want to know how the rumored iPhone 9 looks like. We know by now that Apple is expected to launch three new smartphones this fall and some details about them have just been revealed recently.

A few render images are now available, so you can finally have an idea about how the unofficial phones will look like. We can now take a look at iPhone X2, the 6.5-inch iPhone X2 Plus, which is believed to be the biggest Apple smartphone so far and the cheaper iPhone X LCD model.

From what we could see by now, all three phones are inspired by the design of iPhone X, along with the notch at the top of the screen and the Face ID feature. However, keep in mind that these are rendered images and the final products might not match what we can see now. The cheapest model, the 6.1-inch iPhone could be the one that will vary the most compared to the pictured device, since it is believed that it will come equipped with a LCD display, and not OLED. This could also mean that the phone might have a bigger bottom bezel.

Also, according to the pictures we can see, the iPhone X Plus could be just as big as the Galaxy Note and the iPhone 8.

But how many of these rumors are true? We cannot know yet. There has been a large number of contradictory leaks circulating the internet lately. Some said that all three phones will have OLED screens, denying the cheaper LCD model. Others talked about a triple camera setup on the rear of the handsets, even though the new renders showed a single camera on the cheaper iPhone and dual snappers on the other two iPhones.

All in all, we’ll just have to wait until more details are announced about the upcoming smartphones.

According to the rumor mill, all major media outlets are reporting that Apple is looking revolutionize the smartphone industry by equipping iPhone 9 with not two, but three cameras!

Even though this is just a rumor, there are many reasons to why Apple would actually develop a special three-camera setup. First off, smartphones are becoming more camera centric every year and Apple is always the one to push new camera features and all other sorts of innovations such as iPhone 7’s “Portrait Mode”.

In addition, Apple has received its fair share of criticism these past couple of years for not adding any innovative features to its iPhones and sticking with the same bland, and boring design while Samsung keeps taking things to the next level with every new model of Galaxy S.

Nonetheless, rumor has it that iPhone 9 will sport a three-camera setup that will feature a cool mode called “Super Zoom”. Things get even better than this since the three-camera setup also means that iPhone 9 will be able to sense 3D spaces more accurately than usual, thus enhancing the smartphone’s “deep view” camera mode.

Enhancing AR Features

While Google and Samsung keep toying with VR (virtual reality), Apple decided that it wants to focus all its attention on AR (augmented reality). This is why Apple was able to equip iPhone X with animojis months before Samsung even thought of bringing something like this to its fans. With that being said, the three-camera setup will add another layer of accuracy to AR and Apple is surely going to use it when developing new apps.
