New Augmented Reality Minecraft Earth will Require an Xbox Live Account

Minecraft is a sandbox video game that allows players to use at maximum their creativity in order to build in a 3D procedurally generated world.

Following the success of Pokémon Go’s augmented reality (AR) gameplay, Minecraft is also making a leap into it with Minecraft Earth (ME).

The game will be playable on iOS and Android with a beta release in summer, this year. The game has a multiplayer version available through game-to-game multiplayer LAN play. The players can run their own servers or connect to another player’s game via Xbox live. Xbox live is the online gaming service of Microsoft, unlocking the full potential from Windows 10, Xbox One and Xbox Mobile apps. For Minecraft Earth will provide the foundation and the support of online play.

The company did not provide much information on ME, however it looks like an Xbox Live account will be required. If you are already an Xbox Live user you can use directly your credentials. If you do not have an Xbox Live account you can just make one for free. It is true that Xbox One users have paid Xbox Live Gold subscription however to play Minecraft Earth you just need a free Xbox Live account.

Once you create an Xbox Live account, your username and profile along with your gaming progress will be saved. Users who are already Minecraft players and wish to transfer skins and achievements can do so using their Xbox Live credentials.

In an effort to ensure young gamers safety, Minecraft Earth will use Xbox Live privacy and safety tools giving parents the option to monitor and tailor their kids gaming experience.

For fans who would like to try as soon as possible ME, the beta applications will soon be ready. They will need to make an Xbox Live account for the beta sign-up as well.

Minecraft Earth AR Game To Mimic The Pokemon Go Style

Microsoft has officially revealed its new augmented reality (AR) Minecraft game which mimics the theme of Pokemon Go. The Minecraft Earth game’s disclosure comes after a taunting announcement midst their Build 2019 keynote.

The unveiling was made a couple of days ago, on May 17th, as the game celebrated its 10th anniversary. Microsoft reports that Minecraft Earth’s first beta will be released sometime this summer, June to August, with pre-registration accessible at the moment on Minecraft Earth’s official website.

There is a specific detail that makes Minecraft Earth so different from all the other augmented reality games, for instance, Pokemon Go or even Harry Potter Wizards Unite.
