Still, the great news is that One UI 2.5 brings various new features, like Wireless DeX, and a refined keyboard with built-in YouTube search plus a split layout to the phones.

Also, the new update features adjustable recording duration for the Single Take mode of the camera app.

Video recording resolution can be chosen from the Pro Mode, and the Messages app can now send SOS messages once every thirty seconds.

Make sure that you get the new update as soon as possible to benefit from all its perks, but especially to get the latest security update, which is essential to your smartphone’s wellbeing and your data’s safety.

Android 9 Beta Program For Samsung Galaxy S9, S8, Note 9, and Note 8

Android updates are always complex matters. While users who own Google smartphones receive the latest Android versions almost instantly, most users have to wait a lot more, based on their phone’s manufacturer. Project Treble, introduced by Google, aimed to solve this issue.

When it comes to Android updates, Samsung phones are definitely not the first ones to receive them. We should remember that it took six months for Samsung users to receive Android Oreo. Since Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ support Project Treble, there is a big chance that things might change in the future.

Android 9

Android 9 Pie is on its way, and beta testing is the logical first step. This time, Samsung users might start beta testing earlier than usually. Beta testa could begin at the beginning of November or December. We should also remember that the beta testing program lasts for a couple of months.

A stable build for Android 9 Pie should come at the beginning of 2019. This time we’ll have a chance to see whether Project Treble really makes a difference.

Devices

The beta update will be released for Galaxy S9 and S9+. Since they are the first Samsung devices to receive Android 9, this also means that they will receive beta updates. Not all Samsung users will receive a beta.

The stable update (not the beta one) should become available for many other devices, including Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8.

It is not very likely that Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will receive Android 9 Pie. Both devices received two important updates in the past: Android Nougat and Android Oreo. You can find the Samsung device list for the Pie update online.

Android 9 Pie Update For Samsung Galaxy S9 Is In Preparation And Could Come Out In Early-2019

It has been five months since Samsung launched its new flagship, the new Samsung Galaxy S9. And, in March, Google announced its new Android 9 Pie, back then initiating the first Beta version of the new OS. Since then, Samsung has not stated, at any time, what would be the schedule for upgrading its new terminals to the new Google’s OS. However, now, it seems that, finally, Android 9 Pie update for Samsung Galaxy S9 is under preparation.

As SamMobile news website of the Korean firm states, Samsung has already begun testing the new Samsung Galaxy S9 update to Android 9 Pie. Also, according to all rumors, Galaxy S9 would also be the first Samsung terminal launched in 2018 to get the latest version of Google’s operating system for mobiles.

Android 9 Pie update for Samsung Galaxy 9 and 9 Plus could arrive in early-2019

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and its improved variant, the S9 Plus, have already been listed in the GFXBench software analysis tool which uses Android 9 Pie.

Looking back in time, tests of the previous version of Google’s OS, Android 8 Oreo, were first trialed on the Samsung’s previous models, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in September 2017, while the update rolled out in March 2018. This year’s Samsung models can follow the same pattern.

Although evidence of Android 9 Pie testing has appeared on the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, the Korean giant company has not yet released any roadmaps. The official version of Android 8 Oreo finally arrived on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in March 2018, about six months after the test phase commenced.

Accordingly, we could get the final version of Android 9 Pie update for Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus in early-2019.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Comes with a Better Autonomy than Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has lower battery power than the one offered by the Samsung Galaxy S8, the differences in tests made so far show that users can expect to have up to 30% less time to use. We are talking about a battery test a few weeks ago for the Samsung Galaxy S9 that showed us that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone have better autonomy, but another one of Anandtech confirms the same thing.

The new Exynos 9810 chip

With about 3 hours worse than the Samsung Galaxy S8, it has a big difference in what people are buying the new smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S9 Battery Problem The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with the new Exynos 9810 chip, integrated in the models in Romania, and now we have an explanation for this radical reduction in battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 has a new Exynos 9810 chip that consumes more resources than the 8895 last year, the difference substantially reducing the battery’s autonomy, although in reality, things have to stay completely opposite.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is one of the few premiums, very expensive mobile phones that brings substantial battery retention compared to the previous generation.

Samsung has endowed the Galaxy S9 + with a 3500 mAh battery, one big enough for all of the time standards. Is it enough?

The autonomy is lower because of the processor

It must provide enough power for the generous 6.2-inch, the 6 GB RAM and the octa-core processor on the new Exynos 9810. Although the new Exynos 9810 is more energy-efficient for some features, the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a lower autonomy because the processor consumes more power when it works.

Clearly, the autonomy of the Galaxy S9 + will be tailored to the specifics of each user. Power management can be enabled to reduce resolution, disable some background services, and reduce brightness in the hope that the battery will last longer. Sure, many will do that.
