Sims 5 will be Developed According to Gamers’ Requests

Over the years, a few gaming franchises conquered the entire world. Games like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Sims capture all the attention as soon as a new part is released. Thanks to their huge success, developers are working on new updates for each virtual universe as we speak.

Things are evolving fast in the gaming world, so players have become pickier. It’s getting harder and harder to please them. People from the community spent a lot of time playing each version from worldwide famous games and now they know exactly what they want. Besides, gaming fans will immediately notice any flaws and ask for improvements.

Sims 5 is a long-awaited game from the eponymous series

Sims is one of those games played by millions of people in the entire world. Its popularity made developers release 4 version of it so far. Things are getting even more exciting as we are heading towards the release of Sims 5.

There is still a long time until the game is launched, so we don’t know much about its features or release date. Even if we aren’t expecting the game to be launched before 2020 or later, we are sure about one thing: all the improvements are requested by players. In this case, users will definitely have the game of their dreams.

Considering the experience with previous versions of the game, developers asked for the players’ opinion. Of course, the Sims community has different ideas and not all the wishes can be granted. Most requests are pertinent and inspired, so they will be reflected in Sims 5’s features:

  • Snags from The Sims 3 will be revamped;
  • Players will enjoy an improved home construction scenario;
  • Characters will, most likely, receive much more mobility than in Sims 4;
  • Many of the restrictions notable in the previous version will be removed;
  • Players will have the possibility to change the characters’ appearance – clothing, hairstyle and more.

There is much more to be discovered, but Sims 5 is very far. It will be a long wait!

Sims 5 – Recent News and Release Date

The recent E3 event had little expectations regarding Sims 5 since there’s still a lot remaining from Sims 4.  Grant Rodiek, one of the developers of the game once commented regarding the game that Sims 5 will not go on sale if Sims 4 will not do good in terms of sale and players support.

We can make fairly assumptions based only on what Rodiek said.  So, Maxis will make the game, EA will publish it only if there’s enough revenue from Sims 4 which was launched in 2014. Official figures haven’t been released, but EA said that the game drawn enough attention from the public, especially fan community and of course made great revenue. We can safely say the new Sims game will be released, and we can predict the date based on previous releases.

It’s hard to come with a whole new game idea and released it sooner than two or three years; unless they already work on the new idea for the past time, since Sims 4 was released.

The current game includes four expansion packs, five-game packs and twelve stuff packs. We should study when this game could possibly come to an end. There have been only nine solid packs launched so it’s nowhere closer to the end.

Maxis have a lot on their table for the time being: fixing current bugs, adding new features and of course bring more interesting packs to the existing game before even considering moving on.

Grant Rodiek said for the PC Games Insider in an interview that the Pets Expansion Pack is not at the end and “pets are simply the start and not the end of a cycle”. If they’ll had two or more expansions or game packs planned Sims 5 could only be released in 2021.

On Sims forums, a gamer with the id agent_bev said that EA and Maxis have a distinct pattern when it comes to releasing new games. He pointed out that Rockstar released GTA5 in 2013 and without doubt, they’ve started to develop Red Dead Redemption 2 in the same time, which is going to be launch later this year.

Sims 5 could be in development, but it will take a serious amount of time before it could get released. Sims 4 life cycle would not end soon, since the fan base has been expanded due to the release on two new platforms: PS4 and Xbox One.

Sims 5 will come without the loading screens and with a larger world to explore. Fans have been complaining about the lack of the second feature, so this becomes a mandatory feature for Sims 5. There will be an incorporated map and other real players you can interact with.

Another basic feature will be letting people have cars and let them drive. There are previous versions of Sims and other RTS games that have this feature. This will only come natural to players.

Parenthood and toddlers are expected to be available on Sims 5 since on previous version this was only available as an expansion pack; although afterwards it became a free update.

Sims 4 doesn’t give players the ability to customize characters at a deeper level; all of this will be fixed in the future game.  This will give each player the opportunity to stand out from the crowd as they can customize the look of their characters as they desire.

EA and Maxis should strongly consider that players never appreciated the idea that they’ll have to buy expansion packs which should be included in the basic version of the game.

The game changer for Sims 5 will support VR gameplay right out of the box. The fact that the game is available on PS4 and Xbox One is surprising, since the lack of controls and freedom, which a PC version offers it.

The new consoles PS5 and Xbox One are the consoles of the future, offering more control and users of Sims 5 will have the freedom. These consoles are to be announced in 2019.

There also the rumors in which Microsoft will add a keyboard and mouse support. This will be a huge change for the consoles. But, no official announcements have been made so far.

Looking back at the releases of previous Sims games, Electronic Arts launched a game every four to five years. A simple math shows that 4 years have passed since Sims 4 was launched in 2014.

2020 marks the grand 20th Anniversary of the Sims franchise for both EA and Maxis; this would be the perfect moment to announce a new game which is available on PC, consoles and VR.

The Sims 5 2020 Expected Release Date – EA is Looking Towards the Future

The Sims 4 launched back in 2014 and it kept receiving new DLCs ever since. However, DLCs are not what fans really want. Even though having new DLCs is nice because it refreshes the content, The Sims 5 is what fans are waiting for. On the downside of things, EA who is the lead developer behind the Sims franchise has yet to confirm that The Sims 5 is being developed.

The Sims 4 Lives On

Just like all other companies, EA is looking to generate profits and not to necessarily please fans. Therefore, EA doesn’t have a good reason to start investing in The Sims 5 as long as The Sims 4 keeps making money because fans purchase DLCs. Developing a DLC requires a lot less time than a full game and this is why EA keeps doing it.

The Sims 5 2020 Release

Even though EA might still be able to sell The Sims 4 DLCs for now, fans are going to get tired of this at one point and the game developer will need to create a new installment. Rumor has it that EA is already looking towards the future and that The Sims 5 might be scheduled for a 2020 release.

EA Needs to Earn Fans Trust Back

This past couple of months have not been that good for EA. Gamers all around the world have united against EA and promised not to pre-order any games produced by EA. This means that EA needs to earn the trust of its fans trust back and what better way to do that than with The Sims 5?

Revamping The Sims Franchise

If we take a look at the Sims community forum, we will see that the one thing all fans are asking for is open-world exploration. With that said, The Sims 5 could feature open-world exploration. This feature is surely going to be implemented because this would make it possible for EA to release even more DLCs in the years to come.

Sims 5 Expected Release Date – Available Soon With Everything Changed

Back in 2014, the Sims 4 was launched and from what we know so far, the franchise has had a great response from the fan community and has managed to make some solid revenue.

Will the Sims 5 be published soon by Electronic Arts?

It seems that EA will publish a new game for the Sims series if they see that there is enough revenue from the current Sims 4, which at the moment is going pretty well on PC. EA did not give any details about the sales numbers, but as we mentioned before, the company must have gained a substantial amount of money, taking into consideration the success of the Sims 4. Most probably, the new Sims 5 will be launched soon, but we will have more details about the release in the future.

Do we have a launch date for the Sims 5?

Based on what we know until now, the Sims 4 fans seem to greatly enjoy the present version of the game. There are still things happening around this game and it might seem highly unlikely for any new game to be released in the following two or three years. Also, taking into consideration the fact that only 9 solid expansion packs have been released for the existing game shows that the Sims 4 is far from its end.

In addition, there are several bugs that still need to be fixed and the developers are expected to add new features to the current game before releasing a new one. Therefore, we cannot talk about a launch date yet.

There is a theory, however, that the development of the Sims 5 has already started, which may not necessarily come as a surprise when we think about the amount of time and resources needed to develop a new title. We might have to wait a little bit longer for an actual release date to be revealed, which obviously depends on the lifecycle of the Sims 4 game.

Sims 5 Update – What We Know So Far?

The E3 2018 event hosted Electronic Arts and Maxis’ announcement about the next Sims which came as a surprise for Sims 4 users who they are still to find all the features of it. However, Grant Rodiek, one of the producers of the game made it clear that Sims 5 might not happen if Sims 4’ sales are not as high as expected. But in case it happens, here are some assumptions:

What we want:

  1. A large world and no loading screens
  • The no loading screen feature is not wow, but it is needed
  • Another necessity of the game is the ability to party, go to work and come back home
  1. Drive around your car
  • It will allow the player to move through maps using a vehicle
  1. Toddlers and Parenthood
  • Current players of the Sims 4 are disappointed the toddlers are not included in the game
  1. Aging System and Fully Customizable Characters
  • The actual aging system is not professional, so improvement is expected
  • New choices will be added to customize the characters such as the eye color, hair, skin to tattoos, body type and many more.

When will it be released? 2020 or 2019?

Electronic Arts made a routine on publishing a Sims every four or five years over the last two decades. If we take that into consideration, since 2014 when Sims 4 was released, there will be five years in 2019.

In 2020, however, Electronic Arts and Maxis will celebrate their 20th Anniversary of the Sims franchise so why not give us a present and announce their new base game with a bunch load of features on PC, maybe VR and next-gen consoles? It is still argued when the Sims 5 will be released.
