The US Congress Demanded The SEC To Clarify The Cryptocurrency Regulations Situation

On September 28th, a group of US congressmen sent a letter to the president of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Jay Clayton, asking him to clarify the regulatory framework surrounding cryptocurrency. The message, presented by more than a dozen congressmen, is a step for the securities laws to be modified to include cryptos.

The document was sent a few days after a meeting between representatives of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, congressmen and traditional market investors. Congressmen highlighted the lack of clarity regarding the SEC decisional process regarding whether a crypto token is a security or not.

Additionally, in the letter, they asked the SEC to clarify whether a token could be analyzed separately from the purchase contract, which in turn could become an offer of value. If so, they question whether the resulting token would be treated as a value.

The SEC keeps alive the dilemma surrounding the crypto tokens issued via ICOs

The SEC has cataloged Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as commodities, so their regulation is not related to the SEC, but to the CFTC. In the case of other cryptos, such as tokens, the SEC has indicated so far that it will use the Howey test to determine whether they are values or not. But this instrument does not cover the variety of characteristics crypto tokens sum up.

The US Congress also questioned the SEC chief if he agrees with the past statements of the director of corporate finance, William Hinman, who pointed out that the cryptos coming from Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) should be regulated as securities, a measure that until now is not contemplated by the cryptocurrency regulations.

Also, on September 25th, a meeting was held in Washington DC between Wall Street investors, US congressmen and representatives of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, in which they discussed aspects to prepare a draft law for more explicit cryptocurrency regulations. On that occasion, cryptocurrency companies stressed that, without a clear regulatory framework, the US would lose its advantage in this industry.

Pornhub Adopted Cryptocurrency Payments But Less Than 1% Of Its Subscribers Pay In Crypto

Pornhub adopted cryptocurrency payments for some time now. However, less than 1% of the famous adult entertainment site’s subscribers make payments with crypto coins. The information was made public through a publication in the Hard Fork portal on September 28th where the company stated that after the implementation of the crypto payments system last April, via Verge (XVG), the expected results have not been obtained yet.

In this regard, the Pornhub plans to team up with PumaPay, a cryptocurrency payment processor based on the Ethereum (ETH) network with the possibility of accepting its token, PumaPay (PMA), as a means of payment, too.

While the official announcement about the partnership between Pornhub and PumaPay was made in August, until now the payment function is not available on the platform. In this regard, the integration will take place in Q1 2019, according to some rumors coming from PumaPay.

As regarding the already-implemented cryptocurrency payments systems, Pornhub said that only 1% of its premium subscribers pay with cryptocurrencies.

Pornhub introduced payments with the Verge (XVG) token last April because the cryptocurrency focuses on privacy and anonymity, which is considered the most convenient and safe for this market, according to Corey Price, the vice president of the famous adult entertainment platform. Since then, Pornhub also accepted TRON (TRX) and ZenCash (ZEN).

“Transactions with ZenCash and TRON will allow for flexible billing practices and popular scenarios within the adult entertainment industry, i.e., pay-per-use while ensuring user anonymity, as well as high speed and low transaction costs,” said Corey Price, Vice President at Pornhub.

At that time, Price again exalted the viability of cryptos as a means of payment in the adult entertainment industry, adding that payments with these two tokens would be made through CoinPayments.

However, although the expectations were higher, less than 1% of the Pornhub subscribers pay for their membership in cryptocurrency.

New Shiny Pokemon To Come To Pokemon Go Tomorrow

Tomorrow, on October 1st, Pokemon Go would add the new Research Tasks. However, according to the YouTuber Reversal, new shiny Pokemon characters would also come into the game. Namely, shiny versions of Krabby and Kingler would be added tomorrow. Reversal also mentioned that he obtained these details directly from Niantic, the Pokemon Go devs.

In comparison to regular characters in the game, shiny Pokemon ones in Pokemon Go have alternate coloration than usual which makes them very rare in the game. On the other hand, since Krabby is not a rare character in the game, we could see it as a reward for one of the new research tasks.

Also, Pokemon Go would add a new variant of Spinda tomorrow. Spinda is a Normal-Type Pokemon that boasts multiple spot patterns the devs modified month by month.

On the other hand, Pokemon Go is also in the middle of a huge change regarding the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo which is now a regular Raid Boss for the first time. Also, the Mythical Pokemon Deoxys will be among the EX Raid Bosses beginning starting with October 1st, while Beldum will be the center of the upcoming Pokemon Go Community Day of October. Besides, a Halloween event in Pokemon Go is expected this month, too.

In short, tomorrow, October 1st, new shiny Pokemon will come to Pokemon Go. More specifically, shiny version of Krabby and Kingler would come tomorrow. Also, we should expect other changes, as well, according to Niantic.

“Minecraft” Combines With “Diablo” in the Upcoming Mojang Creation, “Minecraft: Dungeons”

Minecraft, developed by Mojang, remains one of the most appreciated and popular games in the world, years after its initial release. With tons of mods, editions, and patches Mojang released over the time, Minecraft is still offering a very nice gaming experience. Now, the upcoming Minecraft: Dungeons is practically Minecraft combined with Diablo.

The new game is dungeon crawler that reminds us of the renowned Diablo, the famous RPG released by Blizzard, to some extent. Of course, it boasts the blocky characters, buildings, and creatures of the original Minecraft universe. The game, set to hit the shelves in 2019, will be a coop game in which up to four players can participate.

“This was a passion project from a small dedicated team at Mojang. It lets players live the experience of spelunking, mining, and cave exploring in the sense of a classic dungeon crawler game,” said Jens Bergensten, the leading developer of the studio.

According to Bergensten, Minecraft: Dungeons would feature the famous constructions of the original Minecraft game but also new characters, items, and bosses.

“It’s a distilled version of ‘Minecraft. We wanted to focus on making the dungeon crawler part of the game as good as possible. We talked about adding building a lot, but we were concerned it would distract from what the game is meant to be about,” said Jens Bergensten.

Also, Bergensten disclosed that the new Minecraft: Dungeons, which is practically Minecraft combined with Diablo, which would be an adventure game set in the original Minecraft universe, will have a storyline and would be built with Unreal Engine.

The full version of the game is set to hit shelves in 2019, but Mojang also plans to launch a Beta which would be available only for a small group of people.

iPhone XS and XS Max Have A Severe Issue, As Many Users Reported

iPhone XS and XS Max are two great devices Apple released earlier this month. However, they have a significant bug that might make many Apple fans turn to the third iPhone 2018 model, the iPhone XR. Namely, iPhone XS has a severe issue that doesn’t allow the devices to charge, as many users reported.

The information emerged as a whole bunch of users filed complaints to Apple Support Communities, Reddit, MacRumors forums, Twitter and YouTube.

In this regard, Lewis Hilsenteger, the owner of the most popular YouTube tech channel, Unbox Therapy, told Gordon Kelly, one of the Forbes contributors, that many Apple clients complained that their iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max devices refuse to charge when in standby if connected to a wall charger. Even worse, some of the handsets with this severe issue freeze and need a hard reset.

To estimate how widespread is this issue, Lewis Hilsenteger checked eight iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max devices and noticed that only two worked flawlessly. Also, five out of the remaining six models did not charge until their screens were turned on. Besides, one iPhone XS Max device froze for several minutes.

According to Hilsenteger, is challenging to fully estimate how many new iPhone 2018 models have this sever issue as Apple sells millions of such devices.

Are there any working fixes?

As Hilsenteger reported, some users even complained that the replacement handsets boasted the same issue. As for the possible solutions to solve out this problem, some users noticed that flipping the Lightning cable over might help, but the ideal method to bypass this bug is to use wireless charging.

However, all these solutions might eventually damage the battery on iPhone XS and XS Max devices.
