Xbox Games With Gold Have Been Announced for May 2019​

Microsoft took the chance to completely surprise us yesterday as they unveiled their new Games with Gold, instead of waiting until their usual slot on the last Tuesday of the month. The month of May will bring forth two games for the Xbox One, and two for the Xbox 360, which can actually be both played on the Xbox One because of the backwards compatibility.

The list presents three titles, Marooners, The Golf Club 2019, and Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. If you’re a fan of these titles, you already know about them. However, if you’re new to these games, but they look interesting to you, and you’d like to give them a chance, now is the perfect moment. Read below the list of the Games of Gold coming in May.

Marooners

The game is a chaotic mix of minigames in which players can hunt treasures. The game can be played with local friends but also with people from all over the world. Any mix of 2 to 6 local or online players work. Marooners’ price is $9.99 ERP and will be available from May 1 to May 30 on Xbox One.

The Golf Club 2019

The gameplay is built on demanding realism, and it includes online features as well as procedurally generated golf course editor​. The Golf Club 2019 cost is $49.00 ERP, and it will be available from May 16 to June 15 on Xbox One.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon

Players take the role of Lightning Alpha who fights against waves and waves of deadly enormous insect and robot enemies. Insect Armageddon mainly takes place in the city of New Detroit, the target of an intense bug invasion that only EDF can stop. The price of the game is $19.99 ERP, and its availability will be from May 1 until May 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Spotify Reached More Than 100 Million Subscribers, Setting a New Record

Spotify has reached a new subscriber record as the service has recently announced that there are over 100 million paying subscribers. The increase is quite sizeable in comparison to the previous year. It is estimated that the biggest rival, Apple Music, has 50 million paying subscribers.

The figure, which was achieved within the first quarter of the year, is a significant milestone for Spotify as the company aimed to consolidate the paid user base in the long run. The Swedish company offers an audio streaming platform which grants users access to DRM-secured music and various podcasts from a variety of content creators and record labels. The service was launched in October 2008 and attracted a large number of users from the start.

More than forty million tracks are now available, and a variety of criteria like artist, genre or album can be used to sort and navigate through the content. One of the most popular features comes in the form of the ability to create and customize playlists.

Spotify reaches a new subscriber record – 100 million subscribers

The service is available across a large selection of platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux PCs and smartphones and other devices which run Android or iOS. More than 217 million active users enjoy the service each month, and current data suggest that the number will continue to increase in the future.

Two tiers are available: a basic tier, which is accessible for free after an account is created and a premium tier which requires a monthly subscription. While the basic tier offers access to a large amount of content there are several limitations in place: users have to use the shuffle feature if they want to listen to an album, a limited number of skips is available for a playlist, ads can be heard from time to time and others.

As streaming services continue to become more popular, it is likely that new competitors will appear in the future, but Spotify has already managed to capture a large segment of the market.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.19.120 Beta Now Available

WhatsApp Beta program has been quite active in these past days, which can only mean great news for the new stable WhatsApp build. The Facebook Developer Conference begins tomorrow, April 30, and lasts until May 1, which could be one of the reasons we keep on seeing more improvements and features added to the popular messaging app. At the event also known as F8, the developers will show their plans for WhatsApp, just like they did last year when they presented their work which focused on group calls and stickers.

WhatsApp 2.19.120 Beta – Getting Ready for F8?

The 2.19.120 beta version was just aired today, and it’s about 33.62 MB big. However, the guys at WABetaInfo haven’t written anything about it yet, except for informing the beta users on Twitter to always back up the chat history before updating the app:

When there is a new WhatsApp update for iOS or Android, you should always back up your chat history before updating WhatsApp. An update might contain critical bugs that force you to uninstall WhatsApp: if you backed up the chat history, you’ve no need to worry.

In a fresh update, they also explained that there is no “nudge” feature in this update:

As for the Facebook Conference, they mentioned that among other news from the developers, we will see the features that are still not yet (or not fully added) in the beta version:

What we expect from the Facebook conference this year? Calls from WhatsApp Web, Animated Stickers, Dark Mode, Group Privacy Settings and good news about Windows Phone support and Payments!

However, the developers could also talk about the new UI (also dubbed “Vacation Mode”), and many other new features that haven’t been added yet.

You can only update VidMate manually, and you need to download the VidMate 4.1311 APK file. The app cannot be updated over the air (OTA) like other apps, so you must download the update and install it on your smartphone. VidMate is not in Google Play Store, as it goes against the copyright rules, but you can find it on the official VidMate website.

Before you install it, check the “Unknown Sources” option in your smartphone’s settings to be enabled.

VidMate 4.1311 version is only 12.22 MB – a little lighter than the previous one – 4.1302, which was 13.43 MB. The update comes with enhanced performances and tweaks that will make downloading a lot faster. The update also brings some bug fixes and boot time should be faster now, for a smooth experience.

What New Features Can Google Pixel 4 Bring Us?

This year has been already full of surprises and notable devices launched until now. As we can see, Samsung and Huawei have made their way through this year with Galaxy S10 and P30 Pro, but we are still wondering what Google’s next 2019 flagship will be? We are guessing that the Google Pixel 4 will be the next one to enter the market, even if the rumors are pointing to the Pixel 3a and its XL version. If we are right with this one, then Google Pixel 4 has some things to show us.

Google Pixel 4 Features

If we look back at the previous model, Pixel 3 has an excellent camera. But analyzing the newest devices launched this year, we can see some issues with versatility. All of Google’s Pixel smartphones have come with an excellent camera and software, but only one sensor. Other companies are adding to their devices three or four different cameras, and examples we could give many. Huawei has a ToF sensor on the P30, Samsung added an ultra-wide version to the Galaxy S10, and Apple has a telephoto in camera. So, more sensors are needed.

Besides this, Google Pixel 3 had and Pixel 3 XL have some problems with the notch. The design isn’t quite modern compared to the actual devices, not even to 2018 flagships. Some rumors say that Google is looking with more attention at Samsung, and in the future, the company will opt for a hole punch notch.

Also, we are accustomed to the previous model of Google Pixel with two sizes on their devices. If the company does the same with Google Pixel 4, we are hoping that the same design option will be found at both scales. If they are ditching the notch for the bigger device, it will be good that the smaller one to be same.

Finally, the company should focus on stable software. Google’s Android is much better than Huawei’s EMUI or Samsung’s One UI, but Pixel 3 XL had some issues with the stability. So we are hoping that if Google Pixel 4 will be the company’s 2019 flagship, they will do some general software tightening.
