Nintendo Switch Online To Get Three New Classic NES Games Soon

Nintendo Switch Online is already live and, although this means a restriction of the multiplayer that until now had been free on Nintendo Switch, the reality is that we are also facing a service with exciting advantages to reach the users, such as the ability to save our data in the cloud. Another one of the Nintendo Switch Online features is the access to a virtual library full of games of the classic NES video games, which also expand over time. So, finally, we know the first three classic NES game that will soon roll out on Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo Switch Online is up and running

Announced for a long time now, finally, Nintendo Switch Online reached Nintendo fans. The platform is allowing gamers to connect to a cloud where they can save their in-game save files, among others. Also, Nintendo Switch Online grant subscribers access to a classic NES games catalog.

“The NES fun doesn’t have to stop! More NES games are coming to Nintendo Switch. NES Open Tournament Golf, Solomon’s Key, and Super Dodge Ball will be available with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Subscribe now and start playing on 10/10,” announced Nintendo America on Twitter.

Three classic NES games to reach Nintendo Switch Online soon

As we can see above, the novelties that will land in the classic NES games catalog on Nintendo Switch are none other than NES Open Tournament Golf, Solomon’s Key, and Super Dodge Ball.

While NES Open Tournament Golf and Super Dodge Ball are two game titles that launched on NES in 1991, Solomon’s Key is a classic puzzle game which was initially developed in 1986 for recreational purposes. However, a port for NES and Commodore 64 was released in 1987 and boosted the game’s popularity.

Ultimately, you should keep in mind that the classic NES games catalog on Nintendo Switch Online will be expanded by Nintendo on a regular basis, as the company announced earlier this year.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Likely to be Released for PS4 on Two Blu-ray Discs

If the recent reports turn to be true, the highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 will become the first ever multi-disc title released for PS4, and possibly also for Xbox One.

The RDR 2’s case is much thicker than the standard one

In their recent post, GameStop published the promotional material for the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2, encouraging players to pre-order the title as soon as possible. On the picture, which shows the game’s case also from its side, it is not hard to see that the RDR 2’s box appears to be much thicker compared to the typical PS4 case, clearly hinting that more than one disk could be found inside of it.

The biggest game ever released for PS4

According to another picture released few days ago, which features a back of the game’s case, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the biggest in size title ever released for any PlayStation console. Its size is said to be 105 GB on the PS4, so it is rather unlikely that one disc will be enough to store such amount of data. When it comes to Blu-ray discs, they are available in two capacities, 25GB and 50GB, therefore more discs will be needed for the Red Dead Redemption 2. Although BDXL discs can be used to store files over 100GB in size, they are not supported by PS4 and PS4 Pro.

The release date of the game

The upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to be the biggest game ever released for consoles, so numerous fans cannot wait to have their first taste of it. The title will be officially released on October 26th of this year, becoming available not only for PS4, but also for Xbox One.

Microsoft X018 Might Hold Some Big Surprises and Exciting News In its Bag

The return of Microsoft X018 was one of the ads that surprised us the most about the latest Inside Xbox. Phil Spencer made an appearance, announcing important news for the company. The comeback of the X018 event was one of the news Spence announced, and it was very well received by fans, as well.

Gaming industry specialists think we’ll witness many announcements during the Microsoft X018 conference

Jez Corden, a journalist of Windows Central and known insider of Microsoft, has launched some tweets on the matter. Corden assures that Microsoft will make some significant announcements during the X018 and that it will be more than the Inside Xbox.

Corden also bets that we will see streamings of certain upcoming games, while, on the other hand, the hype has also been unleashed by Hugues Ouvrard, director of Xbox France. After he launched the mysterious message saying that “I’m really looking forward to launching an important announcement this week,” many users have pointed out that we may witness even more news at the X018 than expected.

When and where will the new X018 event take place?

Past X0 events have always been characterized by revealing essential novelties. And the first leaks regarding what we can find in the new Microsoft X018, which will take place from November 10th to November 11th in Mexico City, are already beginning to emerge.

In any case, for the moment, there is nothing confirmed, and we just have to wait for the event to happen.

It is true that Microsoft X018 event promises a lot, especially after remembering its history. Or maybe, in the end, the event is just an Inside Xbox with more impact on the Xbox community. In any case, we look forward to the event set to start on November 10th, and, hopefully, Microsoft will announce some exciting news.

Google Launched Project Stream to Allow Players Play Video Games Via the Chrome Browser

It had been rumored since the beginning of the year that Google was working on a platform related to video games streaming, and the company finally announced Project Stream. Although it’s not yet released as a final product, this service will allow AAA games to be played in the same way as PlayStation Now or GeForce Now, only through Google Chrome. The first game available would be Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which can be played from any desktop operating system, be it Windows, macOS, Linux, and even Chrome OS.

The Google Project Stream beta is open to a limited number of participants, who will be able to play the Ubisoft game for free starting from October 5th. The minimum recommended connection to use the service is 25 Mbps, in addition to having both Google and Ubisoft accounts. It is also necessary to be over 17 years old and live in the United States.

With the advancement of fiber optic Internet connections, it makes sense to have more and more stream-based services. Rendering the game content on a remote computer is cheaper and more convenient for many users than having to buy a computer or the physical copy of a game. Thus, you will always have the best graphics quality, and you will be able to play on any system, regardless of its performance.

The Google Project Stream would run games in 1080p resolution and at 60 FPS

However, the only drawback of Google Project Stream is the latency. First, the input from the keyboard or controller must reach the server, render the image, compress it, and send it back, which makes it unsuitable for more demanding gaming. Accordingly, casual games would run smoothly.

One of the essential features of the Project Stream is the number of titles that are available, as during E3 2018 Google supposedly contacted multiple developers to include some of their games on the platform.

This year Google hired Phil Harrison, who has worked for both Sony and Microsoft in the segments of PlayStation and Xbox, but the company did not specify the division in which he is going to work. Today, we already know that he has something to do with this new Google Project Stream.

Project Stream could also reach TVs through an app or Chromecast, the only issue being that the current Chromecast version doesn’t have Bluetooth, but the upcoming Chromecast 3 will do, allowing it to be paired with peripherals.
