iOS 12 Jailbreak – What Will Happen to the Reported Bug?

Last year the 360 Vulcan team was congratulated by TianfuCup (@Tianfucup) on Twitter after they won the highest reward of Tianfu Cup 2018 PWN contest. They got the win after they gained full access to iPhone X using a UaF bug in iOS kernel and a type confusion jit bug in Safari.

SorryMyBad (@SorryMyBad) of 360 Vulcan then replied that after the fix he would release more information and this is precisely what happened last week. Information was promised by the security researcher according to RedmondPie all after the reported bug will be patched by Apple.

The iOS 12.1.3 developer beta was released by Apple on Monday as you may already know and not too long after the iOS 12.1.3 public beta 3 followed. It is still unknown whether the SorryMyBad’s reported bug was patched or not, but there will not be long until someone figures it out.

Returning to the bug we heard about from SorryMyBad, it affects iOS 12.1.2 and below according to RedmondPie. Besides that we know for sure that is compatible with all pre-A12 device which means that if you are an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max owner you can’t benefit from it. Another thing was confirmed by SorryMyBad, and that is that the kernel task port is provided.

GeoSn0w (@FCE365) asked whether or not the kernel task is reported and SorryMyBad offered the answer everybody was hoping for “Absolutely yes.”

GeoSn0w explains why this support is so important. One is allowed to perform arbitrary writes and reads to the kernel memory only with the help of tfp0 ( the kernel task port) that is also necessary to apply the required jailbreak patches. Besides that, users are also advised not to update.

Nintendo Is Ready To Stop Video Games Consoles Manufacturing If The Market Changes

For more than 30 years, Nintendo has been involved in the video consoles industry. Now, the company’s president Shuntaro Furukawa stated that Nintendo is ready to stop video consoles manufacturing if the market changes. That information comes as a shocker for many fans, but, before starting to worry much about it, you should know that Nintendo is not planning to ditch the production of consoles anytime soon.

“At the moment we’re offering the uniquely developed Nintendo Switch and its software – and that’s what we’re basing how we deliver the ‘Nintendo experience’ on. That being said, technology changes. We’ll continue to think flexibly about how to deliver that experience as time goes on,” said Shuntaro Furukawa during an interview with Nikkei. “We aren’t really fixated on our consoles,” he added.

Nintendo Switch, however, is a great success as it sold more than 23 million units in 2018 and predicted it would sell over 17 million in 2019. Thus, Nintendo is on the wave so that it won’t ditch video games consoles manufacturing anytime soon.

Nintendo Is Ready To Stop Video Games Consoles Manufacturing If The Market Changes

“It has been over 30 years since we started developing consoles. Nintendo’s history goes back even farther than that, and through all the struggles that they faced the only thing that they thought about was what to make next. In the long-term, perhaps our focus as a business could shift away from home consoles – flexibility is just as important as ingenuity,” Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo president, continued.

Founded in 1889 as a playing card company, Nintendo moved to the video games industry in the mid-1970s when it started developing games.

Now, Nintendo is one of the most successful companies in the industry, and, according to its president, Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo should focus more on smartphone gaming segment which is “continuous stream of revenue.” Furukawa hopes to turn that into an about one billion dollars industry for Nintendo.

iPhone 11 Game-Changing Display Technology and New Improvements

The iPhone has been a hit since it was first released and each year thousands of fans gather outside Apple Stores in order to be the first to buy the new iteration of the well-known smartphone.

This year’s iPhone could bring some new and exciting features in the form of the iPhone 11. Read below to learn more.

A game-changing display technology

Apple loves to innovate and bring new features on its smartphones. It is likely that the company may premiere a new display type and some believe that it may have developed a new manufacturing method that would allow the insertion of the front camera behind the display.

New technological improvements

Select patent documents hint that Apple may be working on side displays that could enhance the functionality of the next iPhone. Some sources believe that Apple may decide to include something similar to the Touch Bar present on the MacBook Pro. This would allow users to customize the buttons shown on the bar according to their liking.

The company may decide to also improve the internal specifications of the smartphone. The device may receive a higher quantity of RAM, with 6 or 8GB looking like a suitable target. A new and improved A13 processor could bring added performance while a revamped Neural Processing Unit could bring advanced capabilities to the device. Since 5G networks are not available in most part of the world it is likely that we will have to wait a little more for a 5G iPhone since the company prefers to use the improved versions of some technologies in order to deliver the best performance possible to its customers.

Refined design

The iPad Pro 2018 was very well-received and a future incarnation of the iPhone may mimic the successful design. The notch could be minimized or removed completely in order to maximize the size of the display.

Until the official reveals in September fans can only dream that the next iPhone will be great.

New Nvidia Shield Tablet Is Not Rolling Out Anytime Soon

While the Shield TV, Nvidia’s Android TV streaming box, is frequently updated by the devs, the Nvidia Shield tablet, which launched in 2014, has not been revised since 2015 when the latest variant of the device came out. Thus, a new Nvidia Shield tablet is not rolling out anytime soon, according to some new reports based on the statements of the Nvidia CEO.

“Shield TV is still unquestionably the best Android TV in the world. We have updated the software now over 30 times. People are blown away by how much we continue to enhance it. And more (unspecified) enhancements are coming,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang during the CES 2019.

“We are really committed to [Shield TV], but on mobile devices, we don’t think it’s necessary. We would only build things not to gain market share. Nvidia is not a ‘take somebody else’s market share company.’ I think that’s really angry. It’s an angry way to run a business. Creating new markets, expanding the horizon, creating things that the world doesn’t have, that’s a loving way to build a business,” Huang added.

New Nvidia Shield Tablet Is Not Rolling Out Anytime Soon

As reported by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, a new Nvidia Shield tablet is not going to come out anytime soon, as Nvidia is focusing on its Shield TV, the tech company’s Android TV streaming box.

However, Huang left an open door to a future tablet from Nvidia, but, as he said, that such a tablet would come only “if the world needs it. At the moment, I just don’t see it. I think Nintendo did such a great job.”

In other news, Jensen Huang also debated the new AMD Radeon VII. “Underwhelming, huh? I was kind of like saying ‘what?’ Because the performance is lousy and there’s nothing new. There’s no raytracing, no artificial intelligence. It’s a 7nm chip with HBM memory that barely keeps up with a 2080, and when we turn on DLSS, we’ll crush it. When we turn on raytracing, we’ll crush it. And it’s not even available yet,” Huang said.
