Google Chrome 71 Will Block Abusive Ads, Among Other New Features

With Chrome 71, Google is stepping up its fight against the problem of abusive ads on the Internet by blocking all ads on a site that displays them permanently. Google tries to thwart ads that deceive and completely annoys Internet users. Starting with the release of Google Chrome 71, scheduled for December 2018, the most popular Internet browser will automatically cut off all ads from some sites that offer “consistent abusive experiences.”

In November 2017, Google implemented in Google Chrome several protections against so-called “trick to click” that tried to redirect Internet users to unvisited sites to earn money through ads or identity theft. The Chrome 71 update is an extension of it, aiming to stop forced redirections, as it will simply determine if a website contains “abusive” ad content.

Following its own internal investigations into abusive web practices, Google claims to have identified the tactics used. Such ads may act as system warnings or use fake “X” shaped closing buttons to encourage an Internet user to click on content incorrectly. These scams can lead to phishing attacks, as well as they might attempt to steal a user’s private information.

Google Chrome 71 Will Block Abusive Ads, Among Other New Features

Google Chrome 71 will seek to help you get rid of these malicious ads by punishing website owners who publish such content, by removing all bulk ads. Any website which shows such advertisements will have 30 days to replace them with well-meaning ads and to report that to Google before Chrome 71 blocks all ads on that respective site.

These measures, however, will not be extended to those using alternative browsers. Mozilla Firefox has recently implemented better tracking protection and targeting ads that use trackers to collect information from Internet users that they may not be happy to share that info.

Google Chrome 71 will come out somewhen in December with several changes, including the new auto play rules which will aim to reduce the number of videos and audio content played automatically when a website is accessed, giving users more control over the content displayed in their browser.

Fortnite Mobile: Epic Games To Support 60 FPS And Deal With NFL

Who knows how many of the Fortnite’s over 80 million players play it on an iOS mobile device? At the very least, we can ensure that they are not only very numerous, but they are very generous. According to Sensor Tower estimates, the revenues generated by the royal battle on iOS exceeded $300 million in 200 days, a much higher start than any other Battle Royale title. Now, Fortnite merges with NFL.

In addition to a permanent optimization on the interface of the title, Epic Games confirms that compatibility with controllers is still relevant. “We have started to test different configurations, and we will give you news when these tests have reached a sufficiently satisfactory stage,” the Epic Games’ article says.

Then comes the question of fluidity. Not all mobile devices are equal, but Epic Games intends to take the experience to the next level by activating 60 frames per second display on a limited number of high-end models shortly.

Epic Games’ Fortnite Mobile Title To Support 60 FPS And Deal With NFL

“We are evaluating those who will be able to maintain a high level of performance over several parts without overheating to excess,” the Epic Games’ announcement confirms. Still, in the “very soon” category, developers are working on significant performance improvements with Android 7 and other older operating systems of Android.

The game should generally require less memory to provide a more constant refresh rate, but also reduce the size of updates, which are inevitably common in a title like this.

And while we’re at it, Epic Games has just announced a partnership with the NFL, a small sports organization that’s probably happy to place its jerseys and accessories in Fortnite’s item shop, two months after it was introduced to another big online gaming success with young people, Roblox. We are expecting more, as a collaboration with FIFA, to complete the circle of Epic Games’ Fortnite partnerships with sports games.

Although we don’t expect a final release of the so-called Samsung Galaxy F foldable phone, we hope to see the phone’s GUI, alongside the first detailed images of the new smartphone. Samsung’s latest report on its own market results suggests that a folding smartphone could be a way to strengthen its competitiveness, but in 2019, which also marks the 10th anniversary of Samsung Galaxy series with Samsung Galaxy S10. It is, therefore, a good time for Samsung to unveil its new foldable smartphone which would launch next year.

Windows 10 19H1 Hints To an App That Permits Making and Receiving Phone Calls on Windows 10 PCs

A few days ago, the Dell Mobile Connect application rolled out with which users could connect their smartphones with their Windows 10 PC. Among other functions, the app allows users to make calls directly from the PC, using the mobile phone as an intermediary since, basically, what it did was to reflect the phone call on the PC. Similar to this Dell Mobile Connect application, it seems that Microsoft might also launch its own app, according to the references that have been found in Windows 10 19H1.

Windows 10 19H1 hints to a possible app to sync PCs with smartphones for making and receiving calls on computers

Italian tech news portal Aggiornamentilumia has found a non-active application in Windows 10 19H1 with the name Windows.CallingShellApp.

Among the text strings, there are some that refer to several connection-related functions for calls such as “preparing..”, “transfer to PC,” “transfer,” “could not transfer, “incoming call options” or “the call could fail.” Also, “you are out of Wi-Fi range” appeared there, indicating that everything would be done via wireless connections.

The new functions might eventually come as a standalone app or in “Your Phone”

Not being an active app, we cannot know exactly all its function or how it works, however, and taking into account the development of “Your Phone,” it would not be surprising that the next step of Microsoft is to allow users to use Windows 10 PCs to make and receive phone calls.

You should take all that with a grain of salt, even though you might be one of those people who are waiting for a Microsoft standalone app to sync your smartphone to your Windows 10 PC for making and taking phone calls. Luckily, the functions found within the Windows 10 19H1 might either be implemented in a standalone app or might arrive in the “Your Phone.”
