Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Update Brings New “Level Scaling” Options

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is having a strange approach to how the game is showing the enemies level. Now, Ubisoft announced that an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey update brings new “level scaling” options, among other things.

Currently, “every region on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey map has two numbers associated with it. Those numbers indicate, in part, how leveled up you need to be to explore the region without getting thrashed. If you’re in a region and start leveling up, the quests in that region will level up with you. Enter a level six zone at character-level six and then improve to seven, and any level six quests you grabbed in that region become level seven quests, complete with tougher enemies,” explained Kotaku.

“If you hit the max level for the region and playing at normal difficulty, then quests will keep leveling but will lag some and eventually stay two levels behind your character, no matter how high you go,” the site added.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Update Brings New “Level Scaling” Options

Now, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey update of January brings new “level scaling” options, allowing gamers to change the way the game is handling scaling. Thanks to the new feature, players would be able to let the things as they already are, block all enemies to their in-game level, permit them to drop two levels under their own one, and so on.

For the beginners, the new “level scaling” options in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey can help them get used with the game by lowering the difficulty by reducing enemies’ levels by four.

According to Ubisoft, “as soon as the update hits on January 10th, visit the options menu and find the Level Scaling setting. From there you’ll be able to customize how drastically the enemies will scale to your level:”

  • Heavy – All enemies remain at your level.
  • Normal – No change in the difficulty settings.
  • Light – Content is around two levels below your level.
  • Very Light – Content is around four levels below your level.

However, keep in mind that the new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey “level scaling” options are not available for the Nightmare Difficulty Mode.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Season Pass Will Include New Features And a Remastered Assassin’s Creed 3 Version

As it was the case with the new Spider-Man game, Ubisoft unveils the content of the season pass for its next Assassin’s Creed Odyssey a few days before its launch. As they showed, a lot of content will be included in this season pass beside the free additions that would follow in the months after the rollout of the title.

The story arcs of Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis will be offered in an episodic form, with three episodes each. The first episode is scheduled to be available in December and thereafter at a six-week interval. The first one of the three events of The Destiny of Atlantis is scheduled for spring 2019.

The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey season pass will also come with a remastered Assassin’s Creed 3

The remastered Assassin’s Creed 3 version would be compatible in 4K/HDR in addition to offering all the content released for the title (Benedict Arnold missions, Hidden Secrets and King George Washington’s Tyranny). Also, this remastered version would be offered as an individual purchase.

At the same time, Ubisoft announces that a series of additional missions will be offered to everyone, free of charge. The Lost Stories of Greece will offer its content in two episodes. Additionally, new challenges will appear daily and weekly to help gamers collect coins and exclusive rewards.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will launch on October 5th for PS4 and Xbox One

In the months following the launch, new game modes, as well as new mythical creatures, would be added in Assasin’s Creed Odyssey. In addition to the main game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will offer a lot of content. It remains to be seen whether the game will meet the gamers’ expectations.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will roll out on October 5th for PS4 and Xbox One. However, only the Gold and Ultimate versions of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will include the season pass.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey To Come With A New, More Personalized Combat System

With the new Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Ubisoft promises enormous freedom to let us do things the way we want. The video games developing company has announced some exciting news on Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, this time revolving around the game’s combat system and the enormous versatility it would offer to the player.

“You have a base combat system and, from there, everything we put on top has the mission of facilitating your advantage over the rest of the enemies,” explained Jonathan Dumont, the creative director of the game, in an interview with the Gamespot video games news portal.

“We also wanted there to be some choice on the part of the player, so we were trying to have some freedom at the core of everything we’ve added, but in this case, having to create your own style of play, your own class and thinking about how great it would be to mix the different skills. But we also wanted to allow the players to decide whether they wanted to specialize, for example, in only four things if that was enough for them,” Dumont added.

The new combat system in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey to fit every gamer’s style

“We were looking for a more personalized approach rather than supporting a particular way of playing Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, or unlocking things in a certain order,” the creative director said.

“Investing points where you want, but distributing them where you also want to create your own style. Because the Assassin’s Creed saga has been on the market for ten years, and we all play it differently. Some people want to play it stealthily, while others want more combat, so we want to make sure the style of play is right for you, and that the game allows you to enjoy the title as you wish,” Jonathan Dumont, the Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey creative director concluded.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will launch on October 5th, 2018.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Update – What We Know So Far?

If you are an Assassin’s Creed fan you probably already heard about Odyssey, the upcoming game in the franchise. Nonetheless, Ubisoft did not reveal too many details about the game until now. We do know that we will receive more information during the E3. Before that happens, we are here to share with you everything we know so far, including rumors and speculations.

What will we see at E3

The official name of the installment is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. It is not too likely that we will get the game anytime soon, as Ubisoft already released Assassin’s Creed Origins last fall. Nonetheless, we were told that there is something which will be revealed during the press conference, so we can hope for a sneak peek. There is also a chance that Odyssey might come out sooner than expected, as Assassin’s Creed had a tradition of releasing a new installment every single year.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey details

The news about the game was leaked by Walmart Canada, which has become a trusted source when it comes to game leaks. Another report which was posted by JeuxVideo revealed a collectible keychain. On the packaging we can see the name “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” and it comes with some visual clues as well.

For example, the keychain looks like an Ancient Greek helmet. If we think about the name of the game as well, it is not hard to guess that Ancient Greece will be involved in the next game. There is also a small teaser video which has showed up online, in which we can see someone being kicked off a cliff. For most viewers, this appeared to be a reference to the 300 movie, which would confirm the Ancient Greece theory.
