World of Warcraft Classic Returns To The Origins, Bugs Included On Purpose

Who would’ve thought bugs could become a desired element of a game? Players noticed several bugs during the World of Warcraft Classic, but developers aren’t going to fix all of them. In fact, as it turns out, some of the bugs are actually meant to be there. They also exist in the Patch 1.12 of the original game, which is the source of inspiration.

Fans have wished for a return to the beginning for quite some time, and Blizzard decided to listen to them. For those who forgot, the original fan-hosted servers were eventually shut down. That caused quite a movement in the War of Warcraft community.

Back in 2018, fans received a demo of what’s about to come this year. Community manager Kaivax revealed that they received plenty of feedback from players. However, he also pointed out the fact that some of the bugs observed by players are actually meant to be there.

World of Warcraft Classic contains bugs of the original release

“Players reported that [the] Warlock demon summoning was broken – lots of players said that you shouldn’t lose your current demon until the new one appears. We double-checked and in the original 1.12 WoW, and there, as soon as you started summoning a new demon, your existing demon disappeared. So the demo actually matched how the game played originally,” said Kaivax.

“There were a few other reports – such as ‘rare mobs do way less damage’ and ‘Kobolds at Jangolode Mine run faster than walking speed when running away’ – where we were able to confirm that the gameplay was the same in the demo as in the original 1.12 WoW,” the community manager added.

Of course, no major bugs will exist in World of Warcraft Classic, but Blizzard has decided to maintain a couple of minor bugs, just for old times’ sake.

Will We Finally Receive Diablo 4 From Blizzard?

During Blizzcon 2018, many fans were hoping for a Diablo 4 announcement, but that never came. Nonetheless, hope is not lost just yet. There have been several reports which seem to indicate that Blizzard hasn’t forgotten about the Diablo games, and there is a chance that we might still receive a new one.

If we go back to August, we had a statement made by community manager Brandy Camel. At the beginning of Diablo 3: Season 14 he declared the following:

“The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot. And we have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Some of them are going to take longer than others. But we may have some things to show you later this year. We hope you stay tuned, while we work to bring these Diablo experiences to life. None of this would be possible without the support that you have shown us for over 20 years. So whether you first joined us in Diablo 3 or you are a seasoned veteran, thanks you. Diablo is, and always will be, part of Blizzard’s identity, and we can’t wait for the future.”

The statement clearly indicates that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works. This means that a new game is definitely a possibility. More than that, there was also a video titled “The Future of Diablo”, which was posted next to the statement. That year we did receive a mobile game named Diablo Immortal, but fans weren’t really impressed by it.

Does Diablo 4 exist?

We do believe that developers are also working on an upcoming game for the series. The biggest clue were several job listing posted by Blizzard, such as: “”We are working on a new, unannounced Diablo project. Are you a skilled Dungeon Artist? Come work with us, and together we will build something exceptional.”

It appears that Blizzard has been looking for many artists, and back in 2016 it even announced that it searches a new game director for Diablo. Therefore, it is highly likely that Diablo 4 might be in the works.

Is Diablo 4 Coming Out In 2020? Blizzard Hires Diablo and Warcraft Devs For “Several Projects”

Diablo 4 is undoubtedly the most sought-after title from Blizzard by the fans. And there might be some indications that, indeed, Diablo 4 is in the works right now. Blizzard, despite the layoffs, lately, is currently looking for Diablo devs to work on “several projects.”

Blizzard Hires Diablo and Warcraft Devs For “Several Projects”

Everything came out thanks to Blizzard’s COO Coddy Johnson who spoke recently about the studio’s growing resources, even though Activision, Blizzard’s owners, fired about 8 percent of its devs.

“Diablo’s development headcount will grow substantially as the teams work on several projects underway for the franchise, as well as the global launch for Diablo Immortal,” stated Coddy Johnson. He added that Blizzard is also investing in future Warcraft projects. “Overall, Blizzard’s management is reinforcing its pipeline with more resources than ever before to support planned mobile titles, several PC and console releases, and WoW’s continued cadence of content,” Johnson said.

“Future Warcraft projects” might refer to World of Warcraft Classic and Warcraft 3 Reforged, but could also mean something new, something we know nothing about yet.

Is Diablo 4 Coming Out in 2020?

As Coddy Johnson said, Blizzard is hiring Diablo devs to work on several projects. That could mean that Blizzard is willing to boost the development process of Diablo 2 Remastered, but it could also mean that Diablo 4 is under works at Blizzard. In the meantime, as Coddy Johnson said, Activision and Blizzard are focusing on the global launch of Diablo Immortal for mobile devices, developed by Blizzard and NetEase.

On the other hand, Activision stated earlier this year that no significant game release would take place in 2019. That means Diablo 4, if indeed in the works now, would come out in 2020 at least. However, no major game would launch in 2019, but that doesn’t mean Activision and Blizzard won’t announce the potential future rollout of Diablo 4 or Warcraft-based projects. We’ll definitely keep an eye on this topic.

Diablo 4 Announcements Are Coming Soon, Says Blizzard

As you probably know, the last Blizzard’s BlizzCon was not really the event, so many fans of the Diablo community hoped for. While everyone was waiting for the announcement of the fourth episode in the famous franchise, Diablo 4, unfortunately, that was not the case, and Diablo Immortal was unveiled as a mobile game that will still have to prove its worthiness and convince its audience.

However, Diablo 4 is in the works, and the folks from Kotaku had very recently revealed a lot of information about it. Most important, according to Kotaku, Blizzard would publish its work on Diablo 4 soon.

From the Blizzard battle.net platform, in the topic of a forum dedicated to Diablo, the community manager Nevalistis expressed himself on the future plans of the studio. As he reported, several announcements from Blizzard are going to come out pretty soon.

Diablo 4 Announcements Are Coming Soon, Says Blizzard

“We read your feedback well, and our internal discussions are still active. We have many projects for the Diablo franchise that we will unveil in the coming year,” said Nevalistis, the Blizzard community manager on battle.net platform, about Diablo 4.

“We look forward to sharing more with you, but some will have to wait because we prefer to show them to you, rather than tell you about them. It will take some time, but now, more than ever, we are committed to providing Diablo experiences that the community can be proud of,” he added.

According to the recent information coming from Blizzard, Diablo 4 is in the works and might come out in 2019, so the Diablo franchise’s fans should look forward to the first months of the next year for several Diablo 4 announcements.

Diablo 4 has to be a great title since Diablo Immortals disappointed the Diablo franchise’s fans. Hopefully, Blizzard will come up with an astonishing fourth installment in the Diablo series.
