How the GTA 4 Story Impacted the Grand Theft Auto Series

GTA 4 came out way back in 2008, and it immediately impressed everyone through both its gameplay and graphics. The game was the bee’s knees at its time, even though most GTA fans are more impressed by what GTA 5 has to offer and are more busy waiting for news about the long-awaited GTA 6.

GTA 4 features Niko Bellic in the role of the game’s protagonist, as he’s a war veteran who ran away from the Yugoslavian War in Europe and traversed the ocean with high hopes for a better life. Once Niko arrives in Liberty City (fictional New York) and is eager to start making money with his cousin Roman, the protagonist discovers that life as a free man can be just as difficult as on the battlefield. While Niko is also not all peaches and cream, he can get into trouble very easily.

Each and every GTA fan can agree that the story of GTA 4 is extremely dark and full of dark humor. While violence and killing are usual elements of the Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar took it to a whole new level in GTA 4. This game easily remains the darkest GTA game ever made and for good reasons. But apart from the ‘dark’ aspect, there’s more to the GTA story. Let’s get into detail a bit:

Emotional impact:

The story of Niko Belllic and the ways he interacts with other characters, such as his cousin Roman and a potential girlfriend, added emotional depth to the game. Furthermore, the choices players made during the storyline had consequences, affecting the game’s multiple possible endings. That was extremely interesting to see back in 2008 when the game came out, as it was a premiere for many gamers to see such an approach.

Narrative depth:

Compared to predecessor games, GTA 4 has brought a more nuanced and character-driven narrative. While, as we said, Niko Bellic, the protagonist, was a complex character who had a troubled past, we also shouldn’t forget that the story delved into themes such as family, immigration, and the pursuit of the so-called American Dream.

Earlier GTA games featured more caricatured characters, and GTA 4 has the merit of departing from them and setting a new standard for storytelling in the insanely popular Grand Theft Auto series.

Realism and serious topics

We also need to admit that GTA 4 shifted towards a more realistic portrayal of the game world and gaming characters. The storyline features serious topics such as betrayal, organized crime, as well as the consequences of violence. Such a departure from the satirical and over-the-top tone that dominated previous games proved the capacity of the series for more mature storytelling.

The introduction of expansions

Besides the main storyline, GTA 4 also introduced story expansions (more commonly known as DLCs nowadays) in the form of “The Ballad of Gay Tony” and “The Lost and Damned.” Such expansions provided players with different perspectives on the events that took place in GTA 4 and further deepened the narrative even more. Such an approach influenced the design of future Rockstar games, such as “Red Dead Redemption 2,” which had multiple interconnected narratives.

GTA 4 is the last game of the Grand Theft Auto series that had a single protagonist. GTA 5 has three: Trevor, Franklin, and Michael. As for the upcoming GTA 6, it will also have three protagonist characters, and one of them is a woman.

Top High-Graphics PC Games That You Can Play With Only 2GB of RAM

The standards that people have nowadays when it comes to gaming are usually very high, as it’s hard to find a game that doesn’t have mind-blowing graphics. While these games will also usually take a toll on your PC’s hardware, there are still plenty of titles out there that impress the world with their amazing graphics and can be played without having some high-tech gear at your disposal.

High-graphics PC games that you can play even though you have only 2GB of RAM on your computer truly exist, and we’re not saying that you can find them in some parallel universe. They exist in our own physical reality, and we’re delighted to have the chance to mention some of them:

Sniper Elite V2

Sniper Elite V2 was launched in 2012, and it represents the beginning of some of the most amazing elements that make Sniper Elite a top-end series. This game was the bee’s knees at its time, and it qualifies as a tactical stealth shooter set in the German battlefields of the Second World War. You play as Karl Fairburne, an American sniper who needs to apply every dirty trick in the book to get his hands on the V2 rockets mission plan that the Nazis were ‘cooking.’

The Sniper Elite series is mostly known for introducing the so-called kill-cam, meaning that when your character fires a bullet with his sniper, you will see that bullet as it flies in slow motion and pierces the organs of your opponents. Sniper Elite V2 harnesses the kill cam very well. As you’ve already guessed, this game is not for the faint of heart.

Sniper Elite V2 can be played if you have at least 2GB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM on your GPU.

Sniper Elite 3

Launched in 2014, Sniper Elite 3 is the sequel to Sniper Elite V2, and it brings even better graphics than its predecessor. This time, Karl Fairburne will go to the dangerous fields of Africa, where he will encounter pretty much anything you can imagine in a large-scale war: lots of soldiers equipped with terrifying weapons (such as snipers and rocket launchers), mines, and even tanks. Besides his weapons, Karl also has some dirty tricks that he can use to lure his enemies directly into traps. Compared to its predecessor, Sniper Elite 3 is more focused on a stealth approach, as it is indeed feasible to make your way through the enemy’s territory without alerting anyone. However, it’s VERY difficult!

Sniper Elite 3 even takes the kill cam to a new level, adding more detail to the graphics that display a lot of gore and blood. That’s just the harsh reality of war, folks, so please don’t blame the guys from Rebellion for creating such an amazing game series!

Similarly to its predecessor, Sniper Elite 3 demands only 2GB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM for your graphics card.

GTA 4

GTA 4 represented a huge improvement over the predecessor GTA 3. Rockstar released their new game in 2008, where the main protagonist is Niko Bellic, a war veteran who came to Liberty City (a parody of New York) from Europe to hopefully live a better life. Along with his cousin Roman, Niko will get into all sorts of trouble in Liberty City, as he has a taste for adventure and danger.

GTA 4 offers a massive open-world, and it will work even on PCs that have 1.5GB of RAM. The graphics might not be as spectacular as other titles from this list, but they still represent a huge improvement compared to GTA 3.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (aka CS:GO)

CS: GO came out in 2012, being the successor of the legendary CS 1.6. The new game of the series was built on pretty much the same concept as its predecessor: you get to be part of either one of two groups: terrorists or counter-terrorists. You and your team need to kill all opponents of the other team. The first team that loses all of its members loses the round as well. Alternatively, if the terrorists plant the bomb and it explodes, they win. Counter-terrorists can also win the round if they find the time to defuse the bomb that was just planted.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive brings much better graphics than what we’ve seen in Counter-Strike 1.6 or in any other game of the famous shooter series. The 2012 game also brought new weapons and new maps, and it’s pretty hard to complain about anything this game has to offer. It is still played by millions today despite being a game that’s over a decade old.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive needs at least 2 gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of VRAM to run on a computer.

Mafia II

We may be subjective on this, but Mafia 2 takes the cake, as it’s most probably the best game on this list. Set in the mobster world of the ’40s and ’50s, the world of this game had amazing attention to detail from the devs. The guys from 2K Czech did a fantastic job for those times, as this game came out in 2010. That was 13 years ago, and even so, Mafia 2 had fantastic graphics and audio effects. Even the facial expressions of the characters look in accordance with what they speak in the cut scenes, while the shooting sounds extremely realistic and piercing.

In Mafia 2, the player puts himself in the shoes of Vito Scaletta, a war veteran from Europe who came to Empire Bay (New York), where he meets his good friend and partner in crime, Joe. Vito will rapidly start to climb the ranks of the criminal world, although such a path won’t bring him any peace and joy.

Mafia 2 needs only 1.5GB of RAM to be played on the PC.

Which one of the games mentioned here is your favorite and why? Feel free to tell us in the comments!

The Net Worth of Adin Ross Soars to New Heights

Streaming your gameplay on Twitch is certainly one of the most fun activities, and it can even be profitable. A lot of fellows do it, and other gamers are eager to watch how they compete in games such as GTA 5, CS: Global Offensive, FIFA 23, and a lot more. Gamers usually like to play online games against their friends and relatives, and more and more games are meant to allow players to challenge one another in various ways.

One of those popular game streamers on Twitch is Adin Ross. He is known for his strong and somewhat wild personality, and that’s why many gamers like his content and how he promotes it. Let’s be honest; we’re all tired of trailers and simple reviews for specific games. Adding a little flavor, such as being funny or wild as you present a game like Sniper Elite 5, for instance, can make your video a lot more fun to watch.

What is the net worth of Adin Ross?

Adin Ross is not exactly all sugar, spice, and everything nice. Some of his comments on social media have drawn some hate from some fellows, but even so, his net worth is looking pretty good even in 2023. The guy’s popularity on Kick makes his net worth keep on growing, and things don’t look as if they will slow down anytime soon.

Livestreaming and investments make Adin Ross earn millions, and his net worth for 2022 was estimated somewhere at $9 to $18 million. On the other hand, the net worth of the streamer for this year is estimated to reach $35-$45 million.

Adin Ross has millions of subscribers on YouTube

Adin Ross is not popular only on Twitch and Kick. He’s doing great on YouTube as well. In fact, his stats and numbers on the famous Google-owned platform are insane. The guy can boast about having almost 4 million subscribers (3.93 million, to be more precise), and each of his videos usually gets more than 100,000 views. In other words, he cannot possibly complain about not being popular!

One of the justifications for Adin Ross’ popularity is that the guy doesn’t only promote gaming content. He’s also into social, dating, interviewing celebrities, and everyday life aspects. For instance, one of his latest videos, which was posted four days ago, has the following title: “Adin Ross Introduces Andrew Tate to KIM JONG UN.” The video already has more than 634,000 views, despite being posted only 4 days ago. That’s truly insane.

Adin Ross’ content on YouTube is certainly not for everybody. The guy posts some content that is inappropriate for children, as there are sexual jokes included in some of his videos as well.

Another video of Adin Ross has the title “Adin Ross Plays NBA 2K24 For The First Time” and it was posted 2 weeks ago. That video has gathered more than 133 thousand views, and yes, it shows how the streamer plays the latest game of the NBA series.

Let’s also speak a bit about the video titled “Adin Ross Meets Curry Tate.” This one was posted three weeks ago, and it has gathered more than 79 thousand views. In other words, the streamer is often posting social and humorous content, which is why he gathers so much interest from the public.

Adin Ross is known for streaming gameplay of titles such as GTA Online or NBA 2K. These are two of the most popular games out there, and certainly, streaming such content can generate even more traffic in the future.

GTA VI News: Rockstar Games Insider Speaks About “Project Americas”

Grand Theft Auto VI has been heavily rumored, and everyone is anticipating locations, maps, storyline and praying for some official news or at least a tease from Rockstar Games. However, we haven’t heard anything official – only that there will be a new GTA sometime in the future, as the team has a ton of ideas about it. But that’s all. Well, until now…

The sequel has been rumored to take place in different locations, such as South America or even to return to Vice City. This popular map in the franchise was added in the first GTA game that soon became a standalone game. It even got a prequel four years later: “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” – 2002, “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories” – 2006.

GTA VI – Project Americas

An insider from Rockstar Games said to Inside Gaming (YouTube channel) that the sequel title is codenamed “Project Americas,” which could mean that this is the main location where the game will take place.

The term ‘Americas’ point towards the possibility that the game could take place in made-up locations from the US and South America. In other reports, we saw that the US part of the map in GTA 6 would be represented by Vice City, writes EconTimes.

While fans also considered London as a good setting for the GTA 6, Rockstar Games lead writer Dan Houser stated in an interview that a game set in the UK would be awesome, but not something that would be a GTA game:

“I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them – I just don’t think it would be a GTA necessarily.”

GTA VI: Release Date

As for when the GTA VI will be released, looking back at the distance between the previous installments, GTA V was launched five years after GTA IV, which means we might see the game being released in 2021 or even later – in 2022. Until then, fans of the franchise can play the online GTA, which keeps getting new content and events.

Last month, Game Spot noticed Rockstar’s job listings showing that they are looking for a team that will create “next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects.” One of the jobs was for a vehicle artist, a MoCap tools developer, and a technical face developer to “help research and develop new technology for future titles.” All of these future titles could mean a GTA VI and probably a Red Dead Redemption 3, which will be just in time for the future PlayStation 5 and next-gen Xbox consoles that should be released in 2020.

Rockstar will keep both GTA and Red Dead Redemption Online Modes Updated

GTA Online remains one of the most popular modes and Red Dead Redemption fill feature an online component called Red Dead Online. As the launch approaches some fans worried that Rockstar will not be able to regularly update two different online games regularly, and they fear that focus will be shifted on Red Dead Online.

In a recent interview, a high ranking Rockstar North director assured fans that that will not be the case. The developer still plans to support GTA Online for a long time, and updates will still come. In order to keep up, Rockstar to alternate DLC release for the two games, so you will be able to jump into fresh Red Dead online content while DLC for GTA is developed and vice versa.  This is an ideal case, and the plan may not always work, but for now the solution seems feasible.

Red Dead Online still remains a history as the studio wishes to keep it secret until it launches later in November. All we know it that it should be a significant improvement over the previous multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption and as Rockstar learned from some GTA Online blunders the experience is set to be more polished. Some sources claim that the online experience will include narrative missions, something that was demanded by GTA Online fans several times.

A large questions remains when it comes to monetization, as 2K has clearly outlined its gaming-as-a-service policy earlier this year, leading many to believe that Red Dead Online will also feature some equivalent of the well-known shark cards. While the shark cards are a safe way to exchange real-world money to currency in order to buy a coveted item, many players have said that they ruin the experience for new players, as progress is slow and they are more vulnerable into buying them.

It remains to be seen if Red Dead Redemption will survive the hype after the game releases later in October.
