Hyper Presented The First USB-C Hub For The New iPad Pro 2018 Models

Both iPad Pro 2018 variants now use a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port for the first time in the series’ lifespan. The accessory manufacturer HYPER has just announced one of the first USB-C hub attachments specially developed for the iPad Pro 2018 models.

The hub was introduced as the HyperDrive for iPad Pro 2018. This USB-C hub plugs into the iPad Pro’s only USB-C port and expands to a wide array of ports, all in a pocket-sized accessory. Before you go any further, please notice that we have not yet checked this product, physically.

This USB-C hub for iPad Pro 2018 has the following ports: HDMI, 3.5 mm jack, SD, micro SD, USB-A 3.0, USB-C Power Delivery. The latter will allow the iPad Pro 2018 models to easily be plugged into your wall outlet using the USB-C power cord while the other ports remain usable. The SD and micro SD ports provide the user with the possibility to extend the device’s storage far beyond the iPad’s built-in internal capacity.

With the USB-A 3.0 port, the end-user can plug in a keyboard, microphone or Ethernet adaptor. Alternatively, you can also connect a USB cable from a DSLR camera to display photos on your iPad Pro 2018 models. You can also attach a Lightning cable to charge your iPhone, for example, while it would also permit you to connect external storage, but only to access photos and videos.

The HYPER USB-C hub for the iPad Pro 2018 models would probably work with other devices with a USB-C port. Although it is not unique, its design is ideal for the new iPad Pro 2018 models. Indeed, Hyper has just become the first company to promote its USB-C hub as being specially designed for the iPad Pro 2018 models.

The HYPER USB-C hub for the iPad Pro 2018 models come in silver and grey color schemes and work with both with 11- and 12.9-inch models of Apple’s new tablet. The hub will be available from December at a price of $99.99.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Said That iPad Pro 2018 Offers Xbox One S-like Graphics Capabilities

It has become fashionable among mobile device manufacturers to compare their new products with game consoles. Huawei compared its Mate 20 X with the Nintendo Switch video game console, and now Apple itself has referred to Xbox One S in the presentation of the new iPad Pro 2018 that boasts more power and graphics capability than the previous models.

Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, went on the stage yesterday to announce the new iPad Pro 2018 models and, after showing its ultra-thin appearance that virtually eliminates the device’s bezels and its design without a Home Button, referred to the handset’s power and functionality as a gaming platform.

“The iPad Pro delivers Xbox One S-style graphics performance in a product that is 94% smaller,” Tim Cook said to the millions of viewers who follow each Apple keynote live. “And it doesn’t need an AC cable,” he added regarding the new iPad Pro 2018.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Said That iPad Pro 2018 Offers Xbox One S-like Graphics Capabilities

Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, proved his statements true during yesterday’s Apple event, although it has always been difficult to compare performance between gaming-dedicated hardware such as Xbox One S and a multi-function device, as the former one is directly optimized for running video games, while the latter is multi-functional.

What Cook didn’t say is that the 2018 iPad Pro 2018 comes in two variant, on of 11 inches and the second one of 12.9 inches.

But Tim Cook’s statement that iPad Pro 2018 models are offering Xbox One S-like graphics capabilities did not disturb Microsoft, whose battle with Apple is on other areas. Phil Spencer, head of video games at the company, replied on Twitter that he liked the reference and turned it into a proposal to encourage cross-play between the two devices. This device will probably be one of the favorites when xCloud is put into use when it is released in 2019.

Apple To Present The New, Redesigned iPad Pro 2018 and The Successor of the MacBook Air Series

Apple will hold tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30th, its last major event of this year, that will attract the attention of the entire world of technology, as we have already seen OnePlus change the date of the presentation of its new smartphone not to compete with the Cupertino-based tech giant. Several rumors are beginning to come out as we approach the presentation which looks like it will be more significant than initially thought, as Apple plans to reveal its new, redesigned iPad Pro 2018 model and the substitute of the MacBook Air series.

Apple will present the new and redesigned iPad Pro 2018 model

According to Bloomberg, the renowned news portal, up to three different devices would be announced tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30th, during the last Apple’s event of 2018.

The one we know for sure it will roll out tomorrow will be a new, redesigned iPad Pro 2018 model, whose main feature is that it would get rid of the Lightning connector to switch to USB-C, finally taking steps towards universalization of the connectors.

The new iPad Pro 2018 would boast a much better screen than its predecessors, with very thin bezels, with no Home button, but with Face ID (facial recognition) function for improved security.

Tomorrow, Apple would also reveal the successor of the MacBook Air series

The second device we know for sure it will be announced during the Apple event of tomorrow would be the substitute of the MacBook Air series.

The new MacBook device would come with a 13-inch display with higher resolution and which would boast a new design and some unique features that will distinguish it from its MacBook Air predecessors.

Besides, Apple might also present its new Mac Mini, but, according to some rumors, this new Apple device might not be ready in time for the Apple event which will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30th.

iPad Pro 2018, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini To Be Presented By Apple At The Event on October 30th

Apple has sent out press invitations to attend the company’s event set for October 30th, in New York. We expect Apple to announce new tablets, computers, mini-PCs, and some accessories, as well. More specifically, the Cupertino-based company could reveal its new iPad Pro 2018, MacBook Air, and the new Mac Mini PC.

iPad Pro 2018

As Apple already launched its new iPhone 2018 devices and Apple Watch series, the new generation of iPad Pro 2018 tablets are expected to roll out during the upcoming event.

Apple, thinking about the 2-in-1 and convertible tablets that come from Windows, and without having a Mac with a touchscreen as an alternative, still considers that its iPad Pro tablets can replace PCs.

We expect two new iPad Pro 2018 models with screen sizes similar to the current ones, somewhere between 10 and 13 inches and high resolution. We don’t think Apple will jump to OLED displays for reasons of cost and panel supply. They will reduce the size of bezels to improve the screen-to-body ratio, enhance the potential of the Apple Pencil, and upgrade accessories such as the keyboard.

MacBook Air

After updating the MacBook Pro, the best-selling Apple personal computer series, it would be time to upgrade the MacBook Air line, as well. Apple is today a mobile company, more than anything else, and they don’t care much about their other products.

MacBook Air hasn’t been updated regarding hardware for years and, although it is still one of the Apple’s cheapest Mac notebook, it has been outperformed by its competitors and by new formats such as 2-in-1 and convertible tablets.

According to some rumors, a MacBook Air would be presented during the Apple event on October 30th. Also, it might boast a screen of between 12 and 13 inches with “Retina.”

Mac Mini

It’s been four years since the smallest and cheapest Mac notebook has been updated, and as a result, some of the world’s biggest technology news and reviews portals recommended users not to buy these computers.

Tim Cook tried to lower the criticism by stating that “it’s not time to share the details, but Mac Mini will be an important part of the company’s product line in the future.” Accordingly, a Mac Mini 2018 could come labeled as a Mac Mini Pro and might boast the eighth generation Intel Core, DDR4 memories, among others.

iPad Pro 2018 Comes with New Improvements but Also Some Minuses

New rumors

As the release date for the new iPad Pro series is approaching, a series of rumors has been surfacing on the internet.

The latest rumor claims that the new tablet designed by Apple will be so thin that the headphone jack will be removed, as it will simply not fit due to its size.

The rumor was started by a credible source on Twitter and the source has been proved accurate in the case of the iPhone XS range. One of the available sources has also claimed that the thickness will be around 5.9 mm, shedding to millimeters in comparison to the 6,1mm thickness of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro.

Leaked renders have also shown a design that lacked the headphone jack, and the suggested 5.85 thickness further reinforces the claim.

Plus and minus

While the rumors are popular, there is no reason to mourn or celebrate the removal of the headphone jack just yet. If it’s true, it would be the first Apple tablet without the beloved port. Since multiple generations of iPhones have done well without the jack, it is only a matter of time until the new iPad series will receive the same treatment, as the company looks forward to the future.

Some sources also believe that the new iPad series will sport slimmer bezels and Apple may include the popular FaceID into the mix.

A prediction by a well-known Chinese analyst claims that Apple will drop its proprietary Lighting ports in the favor of USB-C. The move will allow the development of better batteries, while third-party accessory support will also bloom, as companies will race to be licensed by Apple in order to offer accessories. If the move is successful, the 2019 iPhone series may also make the transition.

The decision may also come due to a recent decision by EU regulators, but it remains to be seen if it will happen.

The new iPad Pro should be revealed towards the end of October.
