Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC Will Bring Xion, A Mysterious Character In The Game

We finally found out what the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC will bring, and we have to admit that the downloadable content should be interesting. As it turns out, the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC will feature Xion, one of the most interesting characters of the game.

Xion is a mysterious character, and there is not much we know about her. In fact, if you haven’t completed Kingdom Hearts 3, you might not even know who she is. Xion appears near the end of the game, during one of the final fights with Organization XIII.

At first, she is a rival for the player, but this changes after she gets back her memories. Xion becomes an ally of Sora and decides to help out the gang. It is not simple to understand her origin story or her motivations, and there are numerous things that were left unexplained. Luckily for us, the DLC should solve this problem.

Kingdom Hearts DLC will reveal more details on who Xion is and her role in the game

“I think it’s something that people could guess, but we plan to explain it in downloadable content,” explained Nomura. Therefore, if you want to learn more about Xion, you will have to wait until the DLC is released.

To offer you more background info, the wiki page of Xion tells us that she is a clone of Roxas, Xion was created using the memories of Sora. More than that, the ways she looks like is influenced by who is looking at her, which is the reason why she looks like Kairi most of the time.

It is very likely that Xion returned because she is connected to the “heart” of Sora. However, there are not many details available at the moment. Hopefully, the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC will provide all the answers that we need.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Is The Bestselling Game Of The Franchise

The fans have been waiting for a new installment in the main Kingdom Hearts series since Kingdom Hearts 2 rolled out in 2005. Finally, Square Enix finished the work on Kingdom Hearts 3 and launched the game in late-January. It seems that waiting so long for this title to come out made the fans react quickly and buy the game as soon as it rolled out. That’s how Kingdom Hearts 3 became the bestselling game of the franchise.

According to recent statistics coming directly from Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts 3 sold more than 5 million copies, covering both digital and physical sales. And many more copies of the game are expected to be ordered since the game is just one-week-old. Nonetheless, the figures reported by Square Enix are excellent news for the games studio.

As we’ve already set it clear above, the anticipation for the third installment in the main Kingdom Hearts 3 series is behind these excellent sales figures.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Is The Bestselling Game Of The Franchise

Kingdom Hearts 2 launched about 14 years ago, and the expansions and side titles released by Square Enix to complete the main storyline of the series made the fans wanting for Kingdom Heart 3 even more. It could’ve all been part of a smart marketing strategy from Square Enix, but, be it as it may, it came out well for the games studio.

Kingdom Heart 3 is the bestselling game of the franchise with 5 million copies sold within a week, and it’s going to sell even better than now, that’s for sure. And, honestly, the game is excellent, scoring impressive rates from the fans but also from the critics and reputable game reviewers.

“What sticks with me is the exciting battle against elemental titans with Hercules, taking Rapunzel out into the unfamiliar wide world for the first time, snapping selfies with Winnie the Pooh, and going toe to toe with Davy Jones. In 2002, as Sora, I left Destiny Islands to travel across the universe and make new friends. In 2019 I brought old ones home, and I had so much fun doing it,” said Tamoor Hussain from GameSpot.
