Google Plans To Launch A Google Play Store Loyalty Program Worldwide

Those of you who are used to playing on video game consoles, are also used to services like Xbox Live Rewards, a system that rewards you with real money to redeem for games and Microsoft console accessories. Now it looks like something similar is about to come on the Android app store. We talk about an upcoming Google Play Store loyalty program that rewards users with points which can be used to buy stuff from the app store.

Google to implement a Google Play Store loyalty program

If you’re one of the millions of users who frequently spend money on the Android apps store, Google has a loyalty program in place to thank you for your time and investments. As hinted by the code lines in the Google Play Store versions 11.5 and 11.6, Google plans to offer the so-called Play Points to customers so that they can earn rewards.

The future Google Play Points suggest that users will earn points with each purchase they make in the Google’s apps store. These points, as well as other rewards, can be spent on special items in a particular application or redeemed as credits to buy new games and apps for Android.

An example of the Google Play Store loyalty service already runs in Japan

Since there’s nothing official on this, we don’t know how the upcoming Google Play Store loyalty system will work or how exactly will the users be able to accumulate these “Google Play Points.”

However, if we take the Japanese version of the Google Play Store which already has a loyalty program implemented, then the points would be rewarded when spends money on the apps store. For now, the Japanese Google Play Store gives 1 point for every 100 Yen users spends in the store.

At the moment we don’t know when Google could launch these Play Points, but with multiple references to this new Google Play Store loyalty program buried inside the Play Store’s code lines, it seems that we won’t have to wait too long for this service to go live.

Microsoft has released yesterday the Xbox Adaptive Controller for Xbox One and PC, which simplifies the buttons and control of the console controller and is dedicated to gamers with reduced mobility. The new Xbox Adaptive Controller, which Microsoft first presented last May, can now be purchased from the official Microsoft store.

Microsoft launched the new Xbox Adaptive Controller for gamers with reduced mobility

Microsoft developed this new controller after collaborating with players with reduced mobility, while The AbleGamers Charity, The Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Craig Hospital, Special Effect, and Warfighter Engaged have also participated in the development process of the Xbox Adaptive Controller.

It features a black and white design that is larger than the usual Xbox controller and features two large circular buttons that can be programmed according to the player’s needs. The new peripheral has a reduced number of buttons, and it also eliminated the triggers on the back of the regular Xbox controllers, making it possible for gamers with reduced mobility to use placed on a table.

The new Xbox Adaptive Controller was released yesterday and is available on Microsoft Store.

Xbox Adaptive Controller is compatible with Xbox One consoles and Windows 10 computers, as well

To offer more possibilities to people with mobility issues, the new Xbox Adaptive Controller includes several additional ports that allow you to connect speakers or headphones directly to it, but also other control devices such as external buttons or joysticks. In this regard, Microsoft developed the new controller with two USB ports for thumb controls, a USB-C for charging, and a total of 20 3.5-mm jacks for speakers and additional peripherals with different functions.

Xbox Adaptive Controller is sold in a special cardboard package designed specifically for gamers with reduced mobility, which is easier and quicker to open. Microsoft’s new peripheral is designed for Xbox One video games consoles, as well as for computers running Windows 10 operating system.

In-display Touch ID Won’t Come On iPhone and iPad Anytime Soon, Android Keeping The Advantage Over iOS

From now and then, rumors about a possible implementation of in-display Touch ID on iPhone and iPad emerge on the Internet. However, since iPhone X came out with Face ID, most hopes regarding a fingerprint sensor beneath the display in Apple devices died off. But it seems that Apple is thinking about that, only that it won’t come anytime soon, in the meantime Android keeping the advantage over the iOS.

And this information comes from a trustworthy source of Apple rumors, the KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who recently stated that the in-display fingerprint sensor wouldn’t come on Apple devices anytime shortly. However, he did hint that this technology, which is increasingly common on Android, would eventually come on iPhone and iPad.

As for the “fingerprint sensor on display” feature on Android, Ming-Chi Kuo thinks the technology will skyrocket by 500% in 2019 as more and more manufacturers will implement it on the handsets they’ll release next year.

iPhone and iPad won’t get an in-display Touch ID anytime soon, Android keeping the advantage over iOS in this regard

While it’s absolutely clear that the iPhone XS device, planned to be presented today, September 6th, won’t feature a “fingerprint sensor on display,” Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the technology wouldn’t come for iPhone and iPad 2019 models, neither.

According to the analyst, the challenge of implementing such a fingerprint reader in OLED displays is the biggest obstacle for this technology to be adopted much broadly. Ming-Chi Kuo also stated that while Face ID technology is indeed useful, an in-display Touch ID on iPhone and iPad would be better in some situations and would provide a more straightforward and faster unlock of the Apple devices.

On the other hand, Face ID is not always working, so Apple might think to add a fingerprint sensor on display to give users more options. But, unfortunately, as Ming-Chi Kuo said, in-display Touch ID won’t come to iPhone and iPad anytime soon, so Android will keep its advantage for iOS in this regard, for the time being.

New Fallout 76 Video Presents “Atomics for Peace”

Bethesda Softworks has just released the final title in the Vault-Tec’s “You Will Emerge,” a series of short educational videos on the upcoming Fallout 76. Now, we got “Atomics for Peace” which shows us how to put our hands on nuclear launch codes and how to use nukes in Fallout 76.

Here’s how “Atomics for Peace” works in Fallout 76

Appalachia, the wasteland where the Fallout 76 action takes place, is not the ideal place to live in for the residents of the Vault. Once they emerge, the dwellers of the Vault will face many challenges and could meet other survivors that might show no compassion for them. So, once you journey on the roads of Appalachia, you may want to be cautious.

But, luckily, you can become the absolute leader, a fierce character in the wasteland that is Appalachia. To do that, you have to find, either alone or helped by you fellows, all the pieces of the nuclear launch codes. Once you have them, you’ll be able to launch nukes and destroy any target you may want.

However, every action you make leads to some different consequences, so be careful who you nuke. Not to mention the monsters that might pop up when you adventure in the areas you just destroyed.

Fallout 76 will be the ninth installment in the franchise

Fallout 76 will be an online multiplayer action role-playing video game created by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game would be the ninth installment in the Fallout franchise and the 4th game in the series developed by Bethesda.

Fallout 76, the next title in the franchise, would come out with great new adventures and puzzles for the series’ fans. In fact, it is a spinoff game in the franchise, and it’s a prequel to the series.

The new title in the franchise, Fallout 76, is due to hit shelves on November 14th, 2018, and will be available from Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

CoinText Startup Allows Users to Send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) via SMS

A startup called CoinText has developed a solution to send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) via SMS. That would allow the adoption of this cryptocurrency to rise in areas where there is no good Internet connectivity.

CoinText allows its users to send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) via SMS

The CoinText tool is now available and has enabled the first Bitcoin Cash (BCH) transactions via SMS, according to a tweet published by the company on August 31st. CoinText currently offers its services in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, and Sweden, according to the company.

According to the information on its website, CoinText works by using each user’s full number (including area and operator codes) as a unique identifier to create the seed of a new Bitcoin Cash (BCH) wallet. Once a portfolio has been generated, the application provides an API that communicates with a global SMS gateway provider that provides network access and allows coins to be sent via text messages without the need for an Internet connection. CoinText will charge a flat fee of 10 BCH satoshis.

The team warns that the platform does not store any information and depends on some third party services and all transactions are immediately settled in the blockchain. For this reason, they do not recommend its use for storing large quantities of coins.

Sending cryptocurrencies via SMS is not a new method

The CoinText method is something new for sending Bitcoin Cash (BCH) via SMS, but, in the past, similar tools have been developed for sending other cryptocurrencies. For example, in early August, a Californian company called Intuit was able to patent this kind of service for Bitcoin (BTC).

Similarly, an update made by the Samourai Wallet in January included a similar tool that offers the ability to send Bitcoin (BTC) via text messaging, just like CoinText does with Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Also in August, a startup launched an application that allows its users to send Litecoin (LTC) via Telegram instant messaging app. The Zuluc Republic, the company behind the project, announced that it plans to include the SMS feature.
