Pokemon Go Feebas-Themed Event To Take Place On January 19th, Niantic Announced

According to a recent Niantic announcement, Pokemon Go Feebas-themed event would take place on January 19th. The event would focus on the Water-type Pokémon Feebas and Field Research tasks. The Pokemon Go Feebas-themed event begins on January 19th at 2 PM EST (11 AM PST) and would last until 5 PM EST (2 PM PST).

“Spin the PhotoDisc at nearby PokeStops to obtain Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Feebas. And, if you’re lucky, you just might find a Shiny Feebas,” hinted Niantic in their recent announcement, published yesterday on the official Pokemon Go site.

Even though it’s only a very short-lasting event, the gamers would have the unique opportunity to grab Feebas which is a very rare monster in Pokemon Go. Also, catching the Shiny Feebas is even much rarer so you should take advantage of the Feebas-themed Pokemon Go even of January 19th.

Even more, Feebas is a unique monster in Pokemon Go as it requires an additional step to evolve. In order to develop it, coaches have to collect 100 Feebas Candies, but also to make 20 kilometers with Feebas as their buddy.

As Niantic announced, the Pokemon Go Feebas-themed event would come with “Limited Research tasks which will be available when you spin Photo Discs at PokeStops.” Also, by completing the Limited Research missions, you will get rewards, and you’ll have the chance to meet Feebas. “You may also encounter a Shiny Feebas,” Niantic said.

“Feebas migrate quickly during Limited Research, so exploring is key! As long as you’ve collected the Limited Research during the event window, you can complete it at any time. Don’t forget: you’ll need to venture onward to many PokéStops in order to get new Field Research tasks and encounter as many Feebas as possible,” Niantic explained.

Bungie Separated From Activision, But It Keeps The Rights Over Destiny Franchise, Exclusively

In a press release, Activision announced that it is terminating its publishing partnership with Bungie, which in turn retains the rights over the Destiny franchise.

The studio behind the Halo series signed a historic partnership in 2010 with Activision, which provided it with publishing and financial support from the publisher. But several years later, the deal broke. In fall 2018, Activision reported its unsatisfaction with the sales of the latest extension of Destiny 2, Renegades,  and rumors suggested that the relationship between the Activision and Bungie was already tumultuous.

The result is, therefore, the end of the agreement.

“When we signed our partnership with Activision in 2010, the video game industry was very different. As an independent studio looking to create a whole new experience, we were looking for a partner willing to take risks with us. We had a vision of Destiny that we believed in, but to launch a game of this magnitude, we needed the support of a recognized publishing partner,” explained Bungie.

Bungie Has Big Plans For Destiny Franchise, Even Though They Separated From Activision

“With Activision, we have created something special. To date, Destiny has sold more than 50 million copies (…). Most importantly, we also saw a remarkable community – tens of millions of “Guardians” – get up and discover Destiny, play together, create and share memories, and even do great things that go far beyond the game we share. We have had eight successful years, and we would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny,” Bungie added.

For the time being, the transition is still in its early phases, but the separation would be conducted “as transparently as possible.”

“With Forsaken, we learned and listened, and we looked at what we believe our players want from a great experience like Destiny. Don’t worry; there’s more on the way. We will continue to respect Destiny’s existing roadmap and hope to be able to offer more seasonal experiences in the coming months, as well as surprise our community by announcing interesting things beyond,” Bungie ensured its fans.

Bungie, which know owns Destiny franchise, exclusively, ends its statement by explaining that it has “new adventures in new worlds filled with mysteries, adventures, and hope. We hope you will join us there.”

Ubisoft’s “The Division 2” To Roll Out on Epic Games Store Instead of Steam

Epic Game Stores just accomplished its first significant achievement over the Steam platform. According to a recent report, Ubisoft will roll out its The Division 2 video game on Epic Game Store instead of Steam.

When The Division 2 would come out in March 2019, Ubisoft’s online action-RPG will be available in digital format on Epic Games Store, the new online games platform developed by Epic Games, the devs behind many successful titles such as Fortnite: Battle Royale, as a competitor to the Valve’s popular Steam platform.

At the moment, the fans of the Ubisoft’s series can pre-order The Division 2 from Epic Games Store. Also, Epic Games Store would be the only third-party digital store to sell The Division 2, besides the Ubisoft’s own storefront platform. The deal between Epic and Ubisoft is of great significance as it represents a direct blow to Valve’s Steam platform.

Ubisoft’s “The Division 2” To Roll Out on Epic Games Store Instead of Steam

“We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from pre-ordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch,” stated Chris Early, the vice president of partnerships at Ubisoft. “Epic continues to disrupt the video game industry, and their third-party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support.”

Epic Games Store has already accomplished a few critical partnerships besides this recent one with Ubisoft. Accordingly, indie publishers like Annapurna Interactive (What Remains of Edith Finch, Journey) and Team Meat (Super Meat Boy) have already signed deals with Epic Games Store.

Besides The Division 2, which would roll out in March this year, Ubisoft announced that it would sell other titles on Epic Games Store in 2019, as well. However, they did not inform if those would be exclusively launched on the Epic store. If so, it would be a significant blow to Steam.
