The Rise of IoT Devices and the Impact on Business

The Internet of Things was seen as an expensive gimmick at first but the technology has become popular among consumer and industrial clients alike.

In the case of consumers there are already a lot of well-known IoT solutions that can make their life better. For example, they can use smart assistants like Alexa to control various settings in a smart house, like temperature level, light intensity, music volume and much more.

But IoT is able to do so much more. Read below to learn how it can be used to improve the performance of your business.

Access to more data allows better analysis of the workflow

Many businesses opted to install an array of sensors on their production lines, in their warehouses and on delivery vehicles. The information that can be gathered can prevent unexpected damage, lead to the optimization of the line and boost the overall productivity level.

Companies can understand customers better

Cameras and other sensors can reveal important information about customer behavior. This information can be used in order to create effective sales strategies that can significantly influence how many products are sold during a specific campaign and learn what can be done in the future in order to optimize the process.

Reducing maintenance cost

The smart sensors that were previously mentioned are able to anticipate if a particular component will become defective and suggest proactive repairs. The maintenance division will be able to solve the problem faster and the costs of doing the job will be considerably lower.

Providing a superior customer experience

An IoT sensor suit in the form of a camera array will allow companies to provide a superior customer experience that will keep existing customers engaged and attract new customers in the future.

The Internet of Things is already reshaping many aspects of the industry. Those that have already implemented IoT solutions have noticed significant improvements. It is expected that more companies will begin to implement smart protocols in the future.

Meizu Zero Is The Smartphone That Boasts Features Apple and Samsung Have Never Thought To Implement

Tech news portals have praised Vivo upcoming “Waterdrop” smartphone since the company announced it a few weeks ago. However, there is another Chinese smartphone, Meizu Zero, that boasts some features Apple and Samsung have never thought to implement in their latest or upcoming iPhone and Galaxy S models.

Meizu Zero has no buttons or holes. It also comes without any ports, meaning that it would charge and connect to other devices via Wireless USB technology. According to Meizu, the Meizu Zero smartphone would support wireless USB 3.0 tech which would give the phone “unrivaled transmission speed.” However, wireless USB technology isn’t popular at all, at the moment, but it defines the future of the industry.

Also, Meizu Zero boasts no speaker or earpieces, meaning that the Chinese smartphone would rely on the Meizu mSound 2.0 in-display sound technology which turns the device’s screen into one big speaker. That’s not new tech, however, as Samsung has its own in-display sound technology that we might experience on Galaxy S10 and other manufacturers also plan to use it.

Meizu Zero Is The Smartphone That Boasts Features Apple and Samsung Have Never Thought To Implement

As reported by the Chinese company, Meizu Zero has no buttons. Meizu Zero boasts in-display fingerprint sensors and a “Virtual Side Button,” as the company calls it, which would allow users to turn the volume up and down and lock or unlock the device. With the mEngine 2.0 haptic engine, the users would receive tactile feedback whenever a “virtual side button” is tapped.

But the most surprising feature of Meizu Zero is the lack of a SIM card tray. Instead, Meizu Zero supports eSIM technology, so it would work only with those carriers that support this tech.

Also, since there is no USB-C port, the Chinese smartphone would rely on wireless charging. Meizu Zero boasts 18W fast wireless charging, branded by the Chinese tech company as Super mCharge Wireless technology. The best part of it is that the smartphone will come with its original wireless charger in the box, so users won’t have to buy the charger separately.

iOS 12.1.2 Jailbreak: Was This Version Finally Available?

In the past few years, we had to witness the slow descent of the jailbreaking community. Apple made it almost impossible for developers to crack the latest iOS versions, and iPhone users had to get used to phones without jailbreak. However, lately, new reasons to hope appeared.

More recent versions of iOS were cracked and it appeared that jailbreak might regain some of its glory. The latest news make jailbreak fans more hopeful than ever. According to two researchers, the iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak is possible. Their names are Xialong Bai and Min Zheng and they announced their success on Twitter:

Finally! (Mach) Port-oriented Programming (a.k.a POP) Attack Proof 3: Get task_for_pid_0 & root on iOS 12.1.2 (iPhone XS Max with A12 core), by @bxl1989 and @SparkZheng . PAC bypassed now! pic.twitter.com/gL3LZMnqUj

— Xiaolong Bai (@bxl1989) January 15, 2019

Can we jailbreak iOS 12.1.2?

The two researchers claim that they managed to develop the jailbreak tool by exploiting the security measures of Apple. In order to do that, they used a Port-Oriented Programming (POP) attack. By doing this they were able to “crack” the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, gaining root access.

This is not all, it appears that they were able to go through the PAC system of the smartphones. However, if you are dreaming about a jailbreak tool for your iOS 12.1.2 iPhone, there is no reason to get excited yet. There is no assurance that an iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak will become available for the public.

There is a chance that the researchers will choose to report the vulnerabilities they discovered to Apple, which means that they will be fixed in upcoming updates. They could also choose to sell the jailbreak method to other hackers or third parties.

The Beginner’s Guide to Getting Started with Forex

You may not have realised, but you probably already have some experience with forex trading. How so, you ask? Well, when you purchased some Euros for a trip to Paris, did you shop around for the best prices, to ensure you maximised your spending money? That’s forex trading at a very basic level.

Forex trading for profit is a lot more complicated, of course, but nevertheless, anyone can do it. In the old days, forex traders all worked for investment banks. Today, the accessibility of online trading platforms means that anyone can trade on the foreign exchange markets. All you need is a trading account and some money.

In this guide, we are going to go through the basic steps to help you get started with forex trading.

The first thing you need to be aware of is that forex trading is not a guaranteed way to make huge sums of money overnight. If life was that simple, we’d all be driving Lamborghinis and drinking Kristal for breakfast. Successful traders make mistakes. Most only get it right some of the time, but as long as you make more profitable trades than bad ones, you can make a profit from forex trading.

Open a Demo Account

The first thing any would-be trader must do is find a broker and open a demo account. There are lots of forex brokers to choose from, including IG, EasyMarkets, and CMC Markets. Read reviews, see what other people think, check how easy it is to open an account, and then make a decision.

Remember, there are extra costs associated with making forex trades. Brokers charge fees for transactions, which all eat into your profit margins. Each time you make a trade, you will be charged a commission fee, and when you deposit and withdraw trading capital, there are more fees associated with the transaction. Then there are broker spreads, which are the difference between the bid and ask prices. To find out more about which brokers offer the lowest spreads, read this low spread brokers list from InvestinGoal. It should help you narrow your options further when looking for a suitable forex broker.

A demo account lets you learn the ropes without risking your trading capital. It is a great way to work on a trading strategy. You can test out theories, get used to the many forex trading tools at your disposal, and practice your analytical skills.

Choose a Currency Pair

Forex traders work with currency pairs. In any pair, one currency is paired against another. So, if you elect to work with EUR/USD, you speculate on how much the USD is worth against the Euro. When you purchase a currency (going long), you are betting that the currency will rise in value and you can sell it for a profit. When you sell a currency (going short), you are betting it will fall in value, so you can buy it back at a cheaper price.

Understand Leverage in Forex Trading

Leverage is an important concept when trading forex. Leverage helps traders make big profits for relatively low investments. Most brokers offer leverage of between 50:1 and 200:1, depending on the value of the trade. So, if you want to go long on £100,000 of USD and the broker is offering a 100:1 leverage, you only need to deposit $1,000 in your trading account.

Leverage is good, but it can also backfire. If you make a bad trade, leverage greatly amplifies your losses. This is where forex trading tools such as stop losses come in handy, as they minimise your exposure to risk. Use a profit/loss calculator to work out how much you stand to gain or lose on a trade.

Common Forex Terms

There are a number of terms that forex traders need to know. We have already mentioned spread and leverage, but two other key terms include:

  • Pip – a unit of price in currency pairs; and
  • Margin – the money you have in your trading account.

Is Forex Trading Profitable?

Forex trading can be profitable, but only if you learn how it works and don’t rush into making trades without careful analysis. Many forex traders use automated trading signals, which are useful. Copy trading is another strategy you may wish to try. Copy trading means following experienced traders and utilizing their trading strategies to make a profit.

Start Small

It is always best to start small when forex trading. Once you understand how forex trading works and you are confident that you have a workable forex trading strategy, make one of two trades when the conditions are right and keep a trading journal. Only open trading positions when your analysis shows it is the right decision.

You will make mistakes and get things wrong, but as long as you don’t risk more than 5% of trading capital at any given time, it’s OK.

Forex trading is a low-cost money-making activity you can do 24/7. The markets never sleep, so what are you waiting for?

Twitter Launches A New Web Interface With A New Emoji Button

Twitter, one of the most popular social networks, along with Facebook, launches a new web interface for its web-based version with new features and visuals, including a new emoji button. Besides, there are also new shortcuts added to the interface, plus some a revamped trending section.

Twitter announced that the new web interface is already available for some of the users of the social network. The web-based Twitter version would ask the eligible users to try the new GUI if they want. Twitter, even though noted that the new web interface would roll out for everybody in the future, did not reveal when the new Twitter would launch globally.

“A new twitter.com is coming. Some of you got an opt-in to try it now. Check out the emoji button, quick keyboard shortcuts, upgraded trends, advanced search, and more. Let us know your thoughts,” stated Twitter.

Twitter Launches A New Web Interface With A New Emoji Button and More

Among the most significant updates the new web interface brings, there are tiny shortcuts to make tweeting easier, a large emoji button for users to add emojis much more comfortable than before,  a redesigned trending section, and small aesthetic updates that impact the conversation windows on Twitter.

Twitter concentrated its web-based version into only two columns (from three columns, before), and now, with the new updates, it would be straightforward for users to read and post tweets.

However, keep in mind that this new web interface that Twitter already rolled out for some of its users doesn’t represent the previously announced updates that would include status updates and reply functionality. These two features are not yet available in the final versions of Twitter. Also, we don’t know how many users would enjoy the new and revamped Twitter web interface. Those who are eligible will receive an option in their Twitter accounts to switch to the new GUI.
