Apple Asked Developers To Support iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 3, and iOS 12.1 by March 2019

During the recent Apple event, the giant tech company revealed its new iPad Pro 2018 model, dubbed as iPad Pro 3, along with the new iOS 12.1 version. Besides presenting the device’s new design with no Home Button, Apple also asked developers to support iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 3, and the new iOS 12.1 by March 2019.

According to the Apple devs web page, the developers must build new apps with the iOS 21.1 SDK by March 2019, thus, supporting the new Apple devices, including iPad Pro 3 and iPhone XS Max, along with the newly released iOS 12.1. The devs must focus on the new iPad design which lacks a home button, so the new apps must center on that, leaving thin extra space at the bottom of the screen to allow users to use gestures to navigate the new tablet.

However, there are more new features the developers must focus upon, including the new Apple Pencil functions and the higher screen-to-body-ratios the new iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 3 boast.

Apple also asked developers to concentrate on the other new features both iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 3 boast, besides the new functions of the iOS 12.1 version. Accordingly, the devs must also create apps with the new features of the Apple Pencil in mind but also with a focus on the new functionality of the iPad Pro 3 which allows users to connect external hardware via USB-C.

When researching on the new Apple’s developers guidelines referring to the new devices such as iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 3, besides iOS 12.1, surprisingly, there is nothing about the new 11-inch iPad Pro which is, in reality, featuring an entirely new aspect ratio when compared to the previous iPad Pro models and even to the new iPad Pro 3.

Honor Magic 2 Is A Sliding Smartphone Without Bezels and With In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Honor, a brand of Huawei, has introduced a new high-end smartphone, Honor Magic 2, which is quite fascinating in several aspects because it boasts some unique features among the modern-day smartphone market. Accordingly, Honor Magic 2 is a sliding smartphone without bezels and with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Honor Magic 2 boasts a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,440 pixels. The particularity is that the screen occupies the entire front surface, so there is no notch. It is also packing an in-display fingerprint sensor, so it’s placed under the screen. The Honor Magic 2 smartphone is, therefore, a sliding smartphone, a unique feature in the modern-day smartphone market.

Under the hood, Honor magic 2 includes a Kirin 980 processor, either 6 or 8 GB RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage space, a 3,400-mAh battery (40 W compatible charging), and a USB-C port.

Honor Magic 2 boasts three cameras on the back and three on the front

Another important aspect of this smartphone is the photo part. There are six sensors in total – three at the rear (16 megapixels f/1.8, 24 megapixels f/1.8, and 16 megapixels f/2.2) and three at the front (16 megapixels f/2.0, 2 megapixels f/2.4 and another 2 megapixels f/2.4). The sensors at the front are “hidden” under the display and can be accessed by sliding the smartphone. This feature is unique among the nowadays smartphones, and its goal is to ditch the notch which is losing popularity extremely fast.

The Honor Magic 2 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs 3,799 Yuan or about 547 US Dollars. The price boosts to 4,299 yen (or approximately $520) for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Also, the Honor Marig 2 with 8GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage space costs 4,799 yen (about 690 USD).

Honor, which is a brand owned by Huawei, announced that his smartphone is only reserved for China, unfortunately. It would remain to be established if Honor will also release an Honor Magic 2 version for other markets.

Cydia Impactor 0.9.51 Comes Out With iOS 12.1 Compatibility

For all the fans of the fabulous world of iPhone customization, Cydia Impactor updated to version 0.9.51 to be compatible with iOS 12.1 and solve secondary load problems. The new Cydia Impactor 0.9.51 is now available for download, mainly for those users interested in downloading third-party applications on iPhone and iPad.

This update with iOS 12.1 compatibility patches arrives right after the Apple rolled out its new iOS 12.1 at the last Apple event of the year, held on October 30th. However, the release of this new version of Cydia is no reason to celebrate, but it might pave the way to an iOS 12.1 jailbreak solution, even though it would take a lot for it to come out.

While most fans of iPhone customization solutions use Cydia Impactor, there is another sector of users who use it for the download of third-party applications, used in both Windows and Mac systems. For the benefit of all users of the tool, this latest update allows Apple users to run the latest firmware version to use Cydia Impactor without problems.

Cydia Impactor 0.9.51 comes with iOS 12.1 compatibility and full support for new Apple iPhone and iPad devices

The new Cydia Impactor 0.9.51 offers full support for all the latest models of iPhone, iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR, and best of all, it is also compatible with the newest version of the firmware, the iOS 12.1, recently released by Apple.

Jay Freeman, better known as “saurik,” has updated this tool, based on the preliminary releases of iOS 12.1, and the fast rollout of the Cydia Impactor 0.9.51 also indicates that Apple has not changed anything critical with this new iOS 12.1.

Basically, Cydia Impactor is a version that guarantees compatibility with iOS 12.1, in addition to the functionality of downloading IPA files on the iPhone or iPad, obtaining the download and installation of applications without the need to use the official iOS App Store. And regarding the iPhone customization, it allows us to install the Electra IPA, to unlock the device, although, for the moment, there is no indication of any new tool compatible with iOS 12.1.

Samsung Teases a New and Mysterious Smartphone

Samsung is working hard on its Galaxy S10 flagship as the device is said to bring the best that current technology has to offer in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Galaxy line.

Several rumors note that the smartphone will offer top-of-the-line features among which we can count a display with no bezels, Qualcomm’s impressive in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a triple camera system on the back and the speedy 5G standard. It looks like the perfect smartphone but it seems that the Korean giant has another ace up its sleeve, as it recently teased what may be the elusive flexible smartphone that has been in development for quite a while.

The company has previously hinted that it may announce the flexible Samsung Galaxy F in November and what appears to be an intended ‘’leak’, which surfaced during Apple’s recent tech conference, led several sources to believe that the smartphone will be officially unveiled in a few days.

A trademark has been filled in a rather public manner and it implies the existence of a ‘’Samsung Infinity-V’’ display. The ‘’Infinity’’ moniker has been used by Samsung only for those devices that have little no bezels, like the Galaxy S8 and S9.  This leads analysts to believe that Samsung may soon launch a revolutionary smartphone that won’t feature bezels at all, maximizing the screen real-estate while maintaining comfortable proportions in order for the device to fit inside your pocket.

Another covert hint is that the supposed reveal even for the device has been named ‘’the crossroads between the present and the future’’ which is clear hint that Samsung is preparing to announce a futuristic device. In an animated video teaser we can observe a V that unfolds, which can also be interpreted as a clue that leads us to a flexible device.

What is true and what is not remains to be seen in the following weeks.

iOS 12.1 Fixed Some Severe Vulnerabilities But It Boast A Severe Privacy Flaw Itself

Yesterday afternoon, after its conference during which it presented its new notebooks and the iPad Pro 2018, Apple also launched a new operating system update, the new iOS 12.1. This new version of the operating system for iPhone and iPad reached users with a large number of new features and improvements, although it has also arrived with a large number of vulnerability fixes.

iOS 12.1 update fixed some severe security and privacy vulnerabilities

Most of the vulnerabilities fixed by iOS 12.1 were issues found in FaceTime, Apple’s video calling application. This application concealed some security flaws that could allow attackers to execute malicious code on devices using a modified video or initiate a specific call or access data in the memory of the devices. Other messaging applications such as iMessage or VoiceOver were also affected by different vulnerabilities the iOS 12.1 update solved out.

Another security bug fixed in the iOS Contacts app could have allowed an attacker to generate a DoS on the system using a VCF file created for this purpose. Safari, Apple’s browser, as well as WebKit (Apple’s web engine), have also been affected by various vulnerabilities of all kinds, all of which have been now ruled out by iOS 12.1.

Besides the before-mentioned fixes, the iOS Kernel has also received a critical patch that corrects some security flaws and makes it even more secure. Several drivers, such as the graphics driver, also receive security fixes. Several bugs were also detected in components and tools related to encryption, such as CoreCrypto, IPSec or S/MIME messages. Apple fixed those, too.

In addition to iOS 12.1, Apple’s other operating systems, such as watchOS, tvOS, and above all macOS, have also received security patches and fixes.

iOS 12.1, unfortunately, boasts a vulnerability itself, affecting users’ privacy

Shortly after iOS 12.1 reached the public, a user was announced that a new security flaw in the iOS 12.1 lock screen function could easily allow any malevolent person to access private user information even though the iPhone or iPad is locked. As reported, the bug resides within the FaceTime app.

This privacy vulnerability is due to Apple removing the code request when trying to access user data through FaceTime even if the device is locked, a severe failure, whatsoever.
