Former The Last of Us Part II Game Designer Joins Microsoft’s Game Studio The Initiative

When the Studio Head of Game Studio The Initiative announced that developers like Brian Westergaard, Annie Lohr, Blake Fischer, Drew Murray (Insomniac), Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption designer), Tom Shephard (GTA V developer), and Lindsey McQueeney were joining their ranks, we could only think of one fact: a great game will come to Xbox sooner or later.

Last year, Microsoft founded The Initiative to build quality games that will be exclusive – think of Uncharted and God of War. Now looking at the lineup above, these developers have the resources to make it possible, considering they worked on triple-A games before.

Robert Ryan Joins The Initiative Team

Now another leader has been added to The Initiative, and it’s none other than Robert Ryan, former Naughty Dog, and The Motive Game Designer.

The news surfaced thanks to a post by Twitter user “Klobrille,” who wrote:

Another great talent for XGS. Former Naughty Dog and The Motive Game Designer Robert Ryan joined The Initiative as a Senior Systems Designer.

He added a screenshot of Ryan’s LinkedIn profile which shows that he is now the Senior Systems Designer at The Initiative.

Why is everyone hyped about Robert Ryan joining Microsoft’s first-party game studio? Well, he was behind games like The Last of Us: Part II, Uncharted 4, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us.

It seems that The Initiative is looking for experienced people and we really hope to see what they’ve been working on so far. Maybe we will see some of it at E3 2019, although it would be a little too soon.

Nonetheless, Gallagher recently added that The Initiative would experiment with different games, so they’re “staying small” and “staying agile.”

One thing is true: The Initiative has a team that could easily compete with Rockstar Games or other devs like CD Projekt Red. Whatever The Initiative team is working on, we expect to see it in the next few years, and it better be breathtaking!

Samsung Galaxy S11 Might Come As A Full-Screen Smartphone

What about a full-screen phone?

For those of you who are waiting for a full-screen phone, this may happen faster than you think, as Samsung worked his way towards this goal.

The news comes from South Korea, as media sources reported that Samsung is developing what they proclaim to be a “perfect full screen “.  As cited by MyDrivers, the front camera would be masked into the screen, remaining hidden until taking a photo. This is not the first time that a feature is part of the display, as this was the case for the GalaxyS10’s fingerprint sensor.

This is not the first attempt, made by Samsung, regarding a full-screen smartphone. They tried this before with the Galaxy S10 lineup of devices, which housed the front-facing camera in almost indistinguishable holes placed on the device’s screen.

Of course, there are other companies trying to get an advantage in the smartphones market. One of them, called OnePlus 7 Pro, will offer the customers a pop-up font-camera to maintain the full-screen appearance. This represents a different strategy from Samsung, as they have been able to avoid characteristics that would compromise the full-screen design.

Sources from inside the company stated that the camera’s lenses will be inside the screen. With the purpose of creating the first full-screen smartphone, Samsung will have to use all the experience gained from the process of integrating the fingerprint sensor into the screen of Galaxy S10.

Despite the announcement, Samsung is taking the time with this technology. Best case scenario, this feature will be available with the next Galaxy S11. It may suffer a delay if the company doesn’t get the expected outcome.

PureVPN Review Shows Reasons why it’s crucial to Use a VPN for Crypto

You would surely know what a VPN is if you’re an online privacy enthusiast. But if you’re new to this field, then the following explanation will serve to explain how beneficial a VPN service can be for your online privacy and security.

A VPN service offers you with a network of servers that spread across the globe. Connecting with any of these servers allow you to change your IP address as well as your virtual location so you can avoid any censorships or geo-restrictions present on the web.

Popular VPN services, like PureVPN, have servers that are filled with features that help you remain secure and anonymous online, our PureVPN review confirms. This is done via the use of military grade encryption that ensures that your online activities remain safe from even the biggest and most powerful surveillance or hacking organizations.

While services like PureVPN keep you completely secure and anonymous (as confirmed in our PureVPN review), the following reasons will help explain why a cryptocurrency would also serve as a good pair alongside the secure VPN service that you’re using:

Reason 1

While a VPN service keeps you secure and anonymous on the web, your online identity can still get exposed if you use a payment method such as your credit card information to buy anything on the web. These details can make it easy for any agency or individual to track the actual identity of the person using the VPN service.

Cryptocurrency is the most private method to pay for anything on the web. Your online identity remains completely hidden and secure if you make payments via a cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin. Coupling a VPN service with a cryptocurrency ensures that your online identity remains completely hidden on the web.

Reason 2

Another big use case for using a VPN service is to change your online location to access anything that is inaccessible in your country. There are many different reasons for ensuring online freedom on the web via a VPN service. One major reason to make payments for any service that is usually not available in your own country.

Restrictions like these are present on plenty of web services. One way to buy from these services without having to leak your actual online location to use cryptocurrency alongside your VPN service. This way, you get to ensure online freedom while keeping your online identity safe and anonymous.

Reason 3

Surveillance agencies can use extreme measures to track your actual online identity. If you are using a VPN service, they can track your identity by checking the payment method you use to subscribe to the VPN service.

An easy way to remain completely anonymous when subscribing to a VPN service is to use cryptocurrency as a payment method. This way, your online identity remains completely anonymous, with all chains to your exposure closed off completely.

Netflix Vs. Disney Plus – Would Disney Plus Dethrone Netflix

Netflix is without a doubt the most iconic streaming service, but a new competitor aims to take a piece of the pie. Some will say you could subscribe to both, but the decision could be quite expensive in the long run. We know that Disney Plus will be released in November 2019, but there is enough information available to make a succinct comparison between the two services. Read below to learn more.

Netflix vs. Disney Plus – Which one seems better?

The content selection

This is the prime criteria for many users since many want to watch their favorite shows. Netflix offers a rich selection of movies, TV series, and TV shows. Disney Plus will start with a selection of more than 400 hundred movies and 7,000 TV episodes. A large focus is placed on exclusive content, and Disney will offer the entire Star Wars saga in the less than a year. They will be joined by the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and various content produced by Fox, including the Simpsons.

Exclusive series, among each we can count WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier and other unnamed series appear to be quite interesting. Netflix is also keen on exclusive titles, and it already has titles like Black Mirror and Stranger Things.

The price tag

Netflix may have a bigger vault of content, but the price is considerably steeper. Disney Plus comes with a $7 (or $70 per year), but it is likely that the price will increase. It is known that users will be able to create distinct profiles and a 4K UHD streaming option for no additional cost.

The Basic Netflix plan costs, but it includes a single SD stream. Standard offers two simultaneous streams and HD resolution for $13. The third and last tier is premium, packing four simultaneous streams and UHD resolution in exchange for $16.

Compatible devices

Netflix works across a variety of devices. It is likely that Disney will try to do the same but until the service is released compatible platforms remain shrouded in mystery.

Conclusions

Disney Plus is shaping up to be a serious contender for Netflix, but it remains to be seen if it will manage to reach the same levels of popularity.
