BioWare is working at the next Dragon Age game, and this is something that has already been confirmed by the studio. Hudson already made a blog post in which he lets fans know that the upcoming Dragon Age game is currently in the works:

“If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff. Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look …).”

This post referred to the Game Awards which took place the following month. During the event we received a teaser for Dragon Age 4. The video did not offer too many spoilers, but we had a chance to meet the god of betrayal from Dragon Age: Inquisition, Fen’Harel. The trailer lasted one minute and it did not offer any details about a possible release date.

It will take more time

Sources close to the studio have revealed that the game is at least three years, away, which does not sound too good. However, we are not surprised. First of all, the studio had to leave Dragon Age aside for a moment and focus on Anthem. The sci-fi shooter is supposed to come out in February and it is already being tested.

There were also some problems. For example, writer Mike Laidlaw had to leave BioWare despite the fact that he had already prepared an outline for the game. EA is to blame for that, as BioWare had already started pre-production on Dragon Age. It appears that the project wasn’t matching their business model at that moment.

The biggest and most significant gaming release season of the entire year is getting closer and closer to us, and it makes us sad that Dragon Age 4’s release date has not been made public yet. What we know for sure it that Dragon Age 4 will happen so do not worry about that. For almost a year now insiders and people involved in the project confirmed that Dragon Age 4 would appear.

BioWare’s General Manager, Casey Hudson, offered as the latest news. While speaking to GameInformer, she said that the team is “still trying to figure out what the next Dragon Age will look like.” If we translate this affirmation, it seems like we will need to wait more than expected to get this game in our hands.

It has been a while since gossips on the new Dragon Age game have been circling around the internet and even though Anthem is the focus of BioWare at the moment, it feels more reassuring that EA actually confirmed that Dragon Age 4 would happen even though it will not happen soon. Dragon Age series’ and Anthem’s executive producer, Mark Darrah tweeted that our beloved game Dragon Age is being developed.

Even though we settled on the fact that the team made Anthem their priority, the new Dragon Age is being worked on as well. We are not sure if it will be called Dragon Age 4, but we are happy enough that we will get it.

The general manager of BioWare, Casey Hudson has also said that the title of the new Dragon age will be “story and character focused” and its fans will not be disappointed about what they will receive. As we were reassured that Dragon Age would in fact happen, just stay tuned.

All BioWare fans have been wondering about one thing for quite some time and that is about the Dragon Age 4 release date. This has been on their mind ever since Dragon Age Inquisition’s DLC Trespasser has been released. The fans of this fantastic medieval game look all across the Internet for clues that show the new Dragon Age 4. We have seen comics and fanfiction but so far, no release date from the BioWare team.

Finally, some good news

IGN Greece comes to the rescue, apparently. According to them, we might not have to wait for too long anymore. However, because the site is in Greek, we may have missed some information in the translating process. A BioWare employee approached the news outlet and shared what they knew. More exactly, this employee spoke about their work and that they have just released a ‘voiceover’ for a title that is soon to be released.

What did they talk about?

The source didn’t leave a clear indication towards the name, although they definitely excluded Anthem. They indicated towards a game which is an old franchise for BioWare and one which is played in a more medieval setting.

Without jumping ahead, we can assume that this BioWare employee didn’t talk about Mass Effect. Another possibility would be Jade Empire but the company specifically nominated Mass Effect and Dragon Age as the primarily targets of their focus.

In the end, this could just be one of those rumors that look to just draw attention and it might not hold any substance at all. There is nothing from the company that indicates a Dragon Age 4 release in 2020. However, we wrote about it because we care about the hopes of the fans since they can’t survive just with comic books.
