Electra 1.1.0 Update Jailbreak Toolkit Available

The Electra jailbreak toolkit is one of the most popular jailbreaking solutions that are currently available. It is compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPods making it perfect for those that own several devices.

Electra is very popular due to the fact that it is a semi-untethered jailbreaking solution. After the initial jailbreak users are able to reboot the device and it will boot to the original non-jailbreak state. Users can enable jailbreak at any time by running the dedicated Electra app that can be easily installed on their device. The app also offers access to select repositories.

The latest update brings a variety of new and useful features. Read below to see what is new:

The overall performance of the app has been greatly increased as it is now more stable and reliable. The new Sileo Package Manager is also available.

The update features new and improved APT and dpkg packages for Sileo.

Users can opt to install either a base or a GUI package of Cydia in order to run it alongside Sileo.

The random data abort kernel panics have been fixed.

The freezes that led to a kernel panic caused by a watchdog timeout have been addressed.

The vfs account exploit has been improved and it is now more stable and reliable.

The preview build of Sileo can now be downloaded and installed from the default Electra repository.

What to keep in mind:

While the build includes the brand new Sileo Package Manager it is still a preview build. This makes it similar to beta and certain features may not work properly while some bugs could also be present.

In order to benefit from this update, you will have to download and install the latest Electra version for your device.

Those that want to jailbreak their device by using Electra should take into consideration that only devices that are running iOS 11.3.1 and lower are compatible.

The update can be found on the official website.

iOS 12 Jailbreak: Nullpixel From Electra Team Said A Jailbreak Solution For iOS 12 Would Come Out

Every iOS user who would like to get more control over its Apple devices waits for a new iOS jailbreak solution for every new iOS release. And according to the Electra team member Nullpixel, an iOS 12 jailbreak would come out, eventually, even though the new Apple operating system for mobile devices is weeks away.

Nullpixel expressed his opinions on this subject on Twitter, even though we’re at least one month apart from the official release of the new iOS 12. However, iOS 12 public beta releases allowed the jailbreak community to explore every possible way that would permit them to develop a jailbreak solution once the new Apple’s operating system launches.

iOS 12 jailbreak is possible and would come out, eventually, says Nullpixel from Electra team

Nullpixel, a member of the Electra team, explained on Twitter that it would typically be possible for the devs to develop an iOS 12 jailbreak. And that assumption might be correct, taking into account that the Electra team was behind many jailbreak solutions, including the iOS 11 jailbreak.

“There will be a jailbreak for a signed iOS 12 version. Not 100% confident but pretty sure. Don’t quote me if it doesn’t happen,” said Nullpixel from Electra team on Twitter.

Are we going to have an iOS 12 jailbreak solution soon after iOS 12 rolls out?

The jailbreak community started to experience many challenges in developing jailbreak solutions since Apple began to implement better security measures in its mobile operating system.

Also, more and more users don’t want to blow up their iPhone warranty by installing jailbreak solutions. In other words, limiting to Apple’s operating system as it seems the best solution for many users of iPhone and iPad.

Nullpixel and his colleagues at the Electra team are still working on the iOS 12 jailbreak. However, it remains to be seen whether the new jailbreak solution for iOS 12 will be available as soon as the new Apple operating system for its mobile devices launches. It might be possible, but unlikely, to be honest.

SilentRecorder, SpringPlus 11, Straw, Trampoline are the first ones on the list.

With Hapticlock – you will be able to take a look at the time through the haptic feedback; FastDelete – you will now be able to delete items when you use the backspace key; FloatingDock – with this one, you can install iPad dock syles; CountMyMessage – this one counts the number of messages that you receive in the Message app; CallBlocker – you can block people from calling your number

Together with this news, also came the fact that CoolStar’s iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak tool will soon make its appearance, as well. And we think it’s going to be sooner than later.

What’s Apple’s opinion on this?

Notwithstanding what people have to say, jailbreaking a gadget is perilous on the off chance that one doesn’t really understand what they’re doing. This is the reason jailbreakers, more often than not, keep two smartphones with them –  one as their main smartphone and the other to be used for the jailbreak.

Apple, being the good guy as it almost always was, has given us an article that cautions individuals about jailbreaking.

As indicated by the article

Jailbreaking will dispose of security layers that were intended to ensure your own data and the gadget, abandoning it defenseless against programmers and hackers. It can also prompt precariousness where the gadget will encounter constant and surprising crashes. Besides that, it will likewise cause built-in and outsider applications to freeze. You may also lose all your data.  Let’s not mention the fact that it can shorten the life of the battery.

Electra iOS 11.3.1 Jailbreak Public Release Date Soon

CoolStar announced that he is currently adding the finishing touches to the upcoming Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak. However, the tool is far from having its official public release because CoolStar and the Electra team still need to take care of some bugs and issues. In fact, a Reddit user by the name of “Samg_is_a_Ninja” explained to the entire jailbreaking community why the tool still needs a little bit more time before it sees a public release. With that said, let’s check out what are the main reasons why CoolStar and his team are still working on the tool.

Ian Beer’s Exploits

For those who don’t know this, Ian Beer is a security researcher for Google’s Project Zero and he is renowned for finding exploits in Apple’s iOS and then releasing them to the jailbreaking community. The security researcher found two exploits in iOS 11.3.1 with the first one being “multi_path” and the second one being “empty_list”.

The Problem with the Exploits

The previously mentioned Reddit user said that the “multi_path” exploit is the best exploit that CoolStar can use, but it requires an official Apple Developer account which costs $99 per year. This is a big downside because not everyone is willing to spend nearly $100 bucks on a Developer Account.

The second “empty_list” exploit is not as successful as the first one having a success rate of 1/3, but it doesn’t require an official Apple Developer account. Therefore, CoolStar and the Electra team need to find a way to increase the success rate of the “empty_list” exploit before releasing the highly anticipated Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak for everyone to use.

Upcoming Update

We should also mention that CoolStar recently announced that he is working on a major update for Electra iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak which his going to help patch most of the tool’s bugs and issues. Let’s hope that update arrives sooner than expected.
