Huawei Mate 20 X Is A Gaming Smartphone that Allegedly Competes With Nintendo Switch

Huawei has realized the potential that smartphones have in the video game market and has not hesitated to join this industry with its latest handset, the Huawei Mate 20 X which, according to the Chinese manufacturer, can compete with Nintendo Switch.

In the presentation Huawei held a few days ago, the company revealed its new smartphone, the Huawei Mate 20 X, the most performant model of the newly launched Huawei Mate 20 series. And, as Huawei officials stated during the conference, they have not been satisfied with comparing their new handset with other major companies in the smartphones industry, such as Samsung or Apple, so the went even further, comparing the new Huawei Mate 20 X with Nintendo Switch.

While Huawei Mate 20 X has some edge over the Nintendo Switch, the latter boasts a more extensive catalog of video games with some exclusive titles.

Huawei Mate 20 X vs. Nintendo Switch – Which is better?

Huawei’s statements are clear! The new Huawei Mate 20 X is a “better handset” than Nintendo Switch. With a 7.2-inch touchscreen display, at 1080p resolution, and a battery of autonomy of about 7 hours the new smartphone seems more performant than Nintendo Switch which boasts a 6.2-inch LCD with a 720p LCD resolution, and an accumulator with the autonomy of 3 hours.

Also, Huawei also presented new images of a “perfectly coupled” peripheral that can be used as a gamepad with Huawei Mate 20 X.

However, despite all the features that Huawei showed in the newly launched images, the company’s representatives forgot to mention the difference between the two devices regarding the prices. The Huawei Mate 20 X will be more expansive than the Nintendo Switch console. Also, let’s not forget that these devices are running on distinct platforms and Nintendo boasts a broader catalog of games with some titles which are exclusive for the Japanese console.

Diablo III Eternal Collection Might Not Come Out With Cross-Platform Play, Blizzard Said

While earlier this week Business Insider reported that Blizzard announced them that cross-platform play in Diablo III is under development, yesterday, the company stated its devs ruled out the idea of adding cross-platform play to Diablo III.

Initially, Business Insider said that Blizzard is already in talks with Sony and Microsoft for making their Diablo III Eternal Collection versions compatible with the variant for Nintendo Switch. Yesterday, however, a Blizzard representative contacted DualShockers to reveal that cross-platform play was ruled out for the moment.

“While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we do not have any plans to implement cross-platform gameplay for Diablo at this time,” the Blizzard Entertainment spokesperson reported for DualShockers.

Diablo III Eternal Collection would come out to Nintendo Switch on November 2nd, 2018, for all regions. It would cost $59.99 for US and Canada. However, as reported by Blizzard, the upcoming title of the popular franchise won’t boast cross-platform play.

Diablo Gamers Community Demanded Cross-Platform Play For Diablo III

Since many variants of Diablo III appeared over the time, the Diablo gamers community demanded cross-platform play for Diablo III Eternal Collection. In reality, cross-play is an increasingly more popular feature, and video games such as Fortnite, Minecraft, and Rocket League, to mention a few, pleased their fans with such a functionality.

However, Blizzard promised to explore the cross-play addition to Diablo III, but, unfortunately, according to the Blizzard’s most recent statements, the company ruled out the idea of implementing cross-platform play into Diable III Eternal Collection, at least for the moment. So, the company indicates that this feature can get in the game later after launch.

As cross-play is a popular feature nowadays, we hope Blizzard would change its mind eventually and add cross-platform play to Diable III Eternal Collection which is set to come out on November 2nd on Nintendo Switch.

New Nintendo Switch Rumored For 2019 – Here’s Everything We Know About It!

According to the online media The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo is preparing a new Nintendo Switch console for 2019. It would be the same console but updated and with an improved display. According to the before-mentioned news portal, that would be an effective way for Nintendo to boost its sales for the console.

While it is more likely for Nintendo to use LCD technology, there is a small chance that an OLED display will be introduced. Thus, using an improved display, the screen thickness would be lowered, battery consumption would be improved, and weight would be reduced.

However, Nintendo did not offer any details, so we can’t know just yet what kind of hardware the rumored Nintendo Switch 2019 console would include. It might not even be a whole new generation of Nintendo Switch, but it could be only a hardware-upgraded version of the current Nintendo Switch console.

Nintendo plans to release a new Nintendo Switch in 2019

According to Wall Street Journal, the new Nintendo Switch console would come out around mid-2019, even though Nintendo didn’t offer an exact date. This information has been revealed by a group of experts close to Nintendo’s suppliers, who shared the rumors with the before-mentioned news portal.

The problem we think about right now is whether or not the currently Nintendo Switch games would be compatible with the new Nintendo Switch 2019 variant. In case they’re not, as it happens with PlayStation or Xbox games when a new console arrives, Nintendo might not register as many sales as they expect. Therefore, according to the fans, Nintendo should opt for an upgraded version but still compatible with the current Nintendo Switch games.

However, many Nintendo fans expect a Lite/Slim version of the Nintendo Switch console that would still be compatible with the games of the current console and that, at the same time, is cheaper. “Let’s Go Pikachu!” and “Let’s Go Eevee!” on Nintendo Switch To Boast a New Pokemon: Meltan

The Pokemon Company confirmed a few months ago that “Let’s Go Pikachu!” and “Let’s Go Eevee!” would arrive on Nintendo Switch on November 16th. The games are inspired by the popular mobile game, Pokemon Go, and it seems that they were created to connect directly to that title. Unveiled during a special press conference in Tokyo, the two new Pokemon games were developed by Game Freak, and aim to bring to the Nintendo Switch the same fun experience of exploration that the Pokemon Go is already offering. Also, a new legendary Pokemon was revealed, in the name of Meltan.

Pokemon’s official YouTube channel revealed how the creature Meltan would appear in the new video games, “Let’s Go Pikachu!” and “Let’s Go Eevee!”. According to the release, Pokemon Go is the key to finding Meltan in the games made for Nintendo Switch, but the company did not reveal more about this.

“Most of Meltan’s body is made of liquid metal, and its shape is very fluid. He can use his liquid arms and legs to corrode metal and absorb it into his own body. Meltan generates electricity using the metal it absorbs from external sources. He uses this electricity as a source of energy and as a way of attacking through his eye. It’s clearly a curious Pokémon that is very expressive and shows interest in all sorts of things,” Pokemon Company stated.

That means you can send your mobile Pokemon characters from the Kanto region to your Switch, and you can also send gifts to Pokemon Go from your Nintendo Switch console games, “Let’s Go Pikachu!” and “Let’s Go Eevee!.”

All you need is a Joy-Con control to play, and when you’re ready to capture a new creature, all you have to do is turn the controller forward like a Poke Ball. Your friends can enter the game to explore with you with a second Joy-Con control, and you can even launch two Poke Balls with them simultaneously, which will combine to create a bigger, more effective Pok Ball.

Just a few days ago Nintendo released Pokémon Quest for Switch and it looks like the game has been already downloaded more than one million times. Unlike other games of the popular series, the process of collecting creatures requires real patience and luck. This game will not demand your total commitment, but instead, it’s best to enjoy it over the shorter time spans.

The starting point of the game is a base camp, where you will have a chance to choose your own pokémons. You can decide to stick to your old friends known from Pokémon: Let’s Go, so Eevee or Pikachu, or opt to befriend others: Charmander, Squirtle or Bulbasaur.

Once you select your three new companions, you’ll be ready to start your expedition. While exploring new levels, you’ll encounter countless wild pokémons, against whom you’ll have to fight. The battles in Pokémon Quest don’t require any special strategy, but they’ll give you a lot of fun. Every creature you own has only two moves available but using the right combination of stones, which you can find on the battlefield, you can turn your pokémon into a real fighter. There is an auto mode in the game, allowing you to advance faster through levels, but of course, you’ll have more fun if you control the battles yourself. Another interesting part of Quest is the fact that you can attract new pokémons by simply cooking in your base. Different types of food will appeal to different creatures and it’s only up to you to figure out the exact way it works.

Since Pokémon Quest is a free-to-play game, there are some limitations included in the gameplay, but you can overcome them by using real cash. Anyway, as mentioned before, this game wasn’t designed to keep you engaged for hours on end, but to give you maximum fun whenever you have some spare time. Soon, you’ll also be able to play Pokémon Quest on your phone, as a mobile release is expected to follow shortly.
