The Elder Scrolls 6 is being worked on again after trademark lawsuit delayed it

The Elder Scrolls 6 has been apparently involved in some sort of lawsuit regarding a trademark. This lawsuit was allegedly postponing the built of the game. However, the issues have now been solved, which means that the development of the next Elder Scrolls is continuing as expected.

The lawsuit issue came around because of a copyright problem between Bethesda, the publisher behind The Elder Scrolls and an author of a book series. It has to do with the book series by the name of ‘Redfall’ and the game’s next title which is the same.

This lawsuit could have taken years to resolve in court, and it would have meant that the gaming studio might have been strained to completely drop the title of Redfall in favor of another one. They could have also worked something out, and apparently, that is what they did.

Zenimax, the mother company released a statement which said that they and the book store have amicably solved the trademark issue concerning the Redfall trademark.

According to a report by Critical Hit.net, the issue was most likely cleared with some sort of pay off to license the trademark for use in The Elder Scrolls title.

More details and information will be disclosed during the E3 1029 event, which starts on June the 11th.

Regarding the release period of the next Elder Scrolls game, the majority of fans and players seem to believe that the title will launch sometime before the grand release of the next generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft. This means a waiting of at least a few years.

For now, you can play The Elder Scrolls Online and get used with Hammerfell, the home of Redguard.

As it is widely known, Bethesda registers a new trademark for every title in its game series, such as Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Many people were excited to read about the trademark by the name of Redfall, unaware of the fact that it is a book series name before becoming a probable name for the next The Elder Scrolls title.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Detail You Might Have Not Noticed

The next game in The Elder Scrolls franchise that everyone is expecting to hear about is The Elder Scrolls 6. Sure, we just got a little TES on our mobile phones – The Elder Scrolls: Blades, but we’re all waiting for the sixth game in the series that will come out… eventually.

Right now, there is no official news about the game, but remember that lawsuit over the name Redfall? The one where everyone thought it would be the subtitle and hint the location of the game?

It seems that the game will be based in Hammerfell, and here is why it would make sense.

“The Elder Scrolls VI: Hammerfell”

When Bethesda celebrated the 25th anniversary, they revealed some footage of the games they released in the past, and thanks to this video, we realized that the developer has begun working on The Elder Scrolls 6 and that the location will be Hammerfell, probably focusing on the Red Guards.

You all saw the video and noticed a desert-like landscape, and it can only be Hammerfell, from where the Red Guards appear in Skyrim (which also got featured in the video). Now, connecting the previous “Redfall” issue with Red Guards and Hammerfell, it makes sense. If the lawsuit is not in favor for Bethesda and they cannot use the name Redfall, the next best choice would be Hammerfell, since it will be the location name, just like in Skyrim.

Also, these old images support the theory:

As for an official release date, there isn’t one. Unfortunately, the Elder Scrolls 6 will not make an appearance at E3, but since the production on the game slowly began in 2018, it The Elder Scrolls 6 (Hammerfell?) might be launched by the end of 2020, hopefully before the holidays.

Speculations aside, we all know the NPC that will make it to the next game: the awesome player known as “Skyrim Grandma,” Shirley Curry! Thanks to the petition signed by thousands of people, she will be immortalized in TES6!

The Elder Scrolls 6 Won’t Be At E3 2019, Bethesda Announced

If your most significant expectancy of the press conference that Bethesda will hold at E3 2019 is to see the two most significant announcements of last year, think twice. Bethesda announced at PAX East that additional details would not be revealed or showcased regarding the games Starfield or The Elder Scrolls 6 at the E3 of this year. During E3 2018 both games were given a tiny teaser and were announced alongside more detailed reveals for Rage 2 and Fallout 76.

We won’t hear any news on The Eder Scrolls 6 and Starfield at E3 2019

Todd Howard, the Bethesda executive producer, said during a PAX East panel that “that’s just a little sneak peek at the technology that we’ve been building,” in regards to a new game engine’s further details. “People are going to see the tech at first, actually, in Starfield. And so that tech will have like the second version of it in The Elder Scrolls 6, and -before everyone asks- please be patient. It’s going to be a long time. It’s not something we’re going to be talking about at E3 -either of those games- this year. And so patience, please. But given The Elder Scrolls anniversary, we did want to give everybody a taste.”

The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a long way off

We were not really surprised to hear that during E3 this year we will see none of The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield, especially after taking into consideration that their showings from the event in 2018 implied that they are still early on in their development. Howard already knows the release dates for both games, but he decided not to announce them yet because it would be a proof of foolishness.

Pete Hines, the Bethesda marketing boss, and Matt Firor, the ZeniMax Online Studios game director, said during PAX Australia 2018 that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a long way off.

The Elder Scrolls 6 – The Possible Storyline and Timeline

Bethesda announced during E3 2018 that it would launch The Elder Scrolls 6 after Starfield which was, back then, scheduled to roll out after Fallout 76. Now, that Fallout 76 hit the shelves in November 2018, Bethesda is already working on Starfield and its launch, so the next in this series of new releases would come The Elder Scrolls 6. In the meantime, many speculations emerged on how the upcoming title in the Elder Scrolls franchise would be like and which storyline and timeline it would follow.

While yesterday we’ve presented you the first part of a series of articles on The Elder Scrolls 6, which debated topics such as The Elder Scrolls 6 release date, mainly, today we come with the second journey in the universe of The Elder Scrolls 6, a world about which we don’t know much, at the moment.

According to Miami Morning Star, The Elder Scrolls 6 might follow only two storylines, the most plausible one being the so-called “The Decline Of The Empire.”

The Elder Scrolls 6 – The Possible Storyline and Timeline

Judging on how the Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim ended, we presume that The Elder Scrolls 6 would bring the gamers in the middle of a war between The Empire and The Thalmor, as The Empire seemed vulnerable at the end of the Skyrim title. Even before the storyline of Skyrim, The Empire lost vast territories over The Thalmor.

With the Empire previously losing Morrowind to the Black Marsh, then the Summerset Isles, Valenwood and Elsweyr to the Aldmeri Dominion, and Hammerfell after the peace agreement, in Skyrim it again faced the Stormcloak Rebellion. The Empire is declining, and The Elder Scrolls VI might be when a great war begins again, with the Thalmor trying to conquer the weakened Empire…

Miami Morning Star

As for what timeline we’ll see in The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda might fast forward so that the player would be thrown into a world where The Empire would be on the brink of destruction. The gamer might struggle to stop The Thalmore from taking over The Empire. At the moment, this is just a theory since Bethesda revealed nothing about The Elder Scrolls 6. Also, there is a second theory on The Elder Scrolls 6 possible storyline and timeline, about which we’ll discuss in a future article, so keep in touch.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date, Rumors, News, And Everything Else You Must Know

While the recent Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch is still an enjoyable title for the fans of the series, rumors and news about The Elder Scrolls 6 release date and features have emerged on the Internet since Bethesda closed its presentation at E3 2018 with a teaser for The Elder Scrolls 6. Here’s everything you must know about The Elder Scrolls 6.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date

The last installment in the series, Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, launched in 2011 on PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360. In 2016, the title became available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while in November 2017 Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim rolled out for Nintendo Switch.

Therefore, we’re ready for the next tile in the series, The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda announced during the E3 2018 that it’s working on the next game in the franchise, and, even though the games studio presented a The Elder Scrolls 6 trailer during the before-mentioned fair, the company did not reveal when the game would launch. Bethesda only said that The Elder Scrolls 6 would come after Starfield.

Accordingly, we know nothing about The Elder Scrolls 6 release date, but since Starfield would launch for the next-gen consoles, we expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to come out after 2020.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Rumors, News, And Everything Else

Another topic of debate besides The Elder Scrolls 6 release date is where would the next title in the series take place. We know already that each Elder Scrolls game takes place in a different region of the Tamriel empire, the in-game world. The first titles in the series covered Hammerfell, High Rock, Island of Vvardenfell, Cyrodiil, and Skyrim.

So, what’s left for The Elder Scroll 6? Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh (Argonia) are unexplored regions in Elder Scrolls franchise, so The Elder Scrolls 6 might take place in any of them. And that because the other two areas, Battlespire and Regard, are not part of the main series of Elder Scrolls games.

According to some rumors, The Elder Scrolls 6 would take place in Black Marsh, or Argonia, but no reliable sources indicate to that.
