Sims has been on the market for a long period of time, namely from the year 2000, and has since introduced various refreshing features. Even if the company struggled at the beginning, EA and Matrix have launched many DLC packs with a great amount of content. The latest release was Sims 4 in 2014 and people are starting to wonder when the next launch will take place.
EA’s current agenda
More DLC packs for The Sims 4 will come in order to fix some issues such as adding toddlers and implementing additional options regarding jobs, locations, outdoor activities and different paths to take the characters on. Moreover, the company has been focusing on developing “The Sims Mobile” which is a more profitable project than the PC version.
Daniel H., the game designer of “The Sims 4”, announced his departure on Twitter, praising this collaboration and his meetings with the game fans. According to SimsVIP, the mobile team has gained more and more people due to a massive change in employment with EA on LinkedIn profiles. However, it’s not entirely certain if EA wants to improve the Sims 4 and the mobile app or to launch a new game. Shifting to the mobile platform department may or may not affect the postpone the improvement of The Sims 4 or other future releases.
Is The Sims 5 the next step?
EA takes between three and five years to launch a new Sims game – The Sims 2 in 2004, The Sims 3 in 2009 and The Sims 4 in 2014. If the company is sticking to this pattern, the next Sims series is just around the corner. By even having the option to travel into the future in Sims 3, the next Sims game would have to be legendary.
There have been rumours regarding the game announcement even if the company is careful about leaks. It may be released later this year or next year. Maybe EA will launch The Sims 5 after they have added enough content for the current Sims.
