Google Chrome 73 Supports DuckDuckGo Search Engine In Specific Regions

The new Google Chrome 73 update has arrived with an exciting addition. Google has decided to add a new service to the list of default search engines which are offered in each market, improving the selection of search engine options which are bundled with Chrome. Now, Google Chrome supports the DuckDuckGo search engine, but only in specific regions.

It is interesting that Google opted to add direct rivals in the form of the popular DuckDuckGo (DDG) and Qwant. The two search engines focus on privacy, a feature which seems to be quite detrimental when you are looking at the potential to generate revenue by offering targeted ads.

Many governments have started to question the popularity of the search service, and they believe that competition laws should be changed.

A high-ranking Google employee has noted that the addition of the DuckDuckGo search engine to Google Chrome was motivated by the usage statistics which were collected from users.

DDGo is now offered as an option in more than 60 countries. The founder of DuckDuckGo saluted the decision, adding that this acceptance of the pro-privacy search engine shows that Google cares about the privacy of its users. DuckDuckGo search engine has become popular in recent years, and it has spearheaded the spread of pro-privacy products among casual Internet users. Data mining suggests that Google planned to add DDG since December 2018 to Google Chrome, when the company agreed to offer the duck.com domain to DuckDuckGo.

On the other hand, the co-founder of Qwant said that Google made a great choice but advised users to use Mozilla Firefox or Brave as better alternatives. Chrome 73 arrives with other improvements that make the popular browser even better. The new update is now available worldwide.

Apple Is Reportedly Working On A Regular iPad and A New 10.5-Inch iPad 2019 Tablet

It is already known that Apple is working on the next generation of iPad devices and the internet is filled with rumors about the upcoming tablets. A popular source claims that Apple will release a regular 10.2-inch iPad and a new 10.5-inch iPad tablet that would not be a part of the iPad Pro range.

The source is quite reliable since information offered in the past was confirmed by the official announcement which arrived at a later date. The same source notes that the devices won’t be released at the same time.

It looks like Apple wants to offer a more affordable version of the iPad Pro, which should convince more users to opt for a device with a bigger screen. The supposed price range is unclear at this point, as it could vary between the $329 price for the basic iPad models and up to $799 if we are looking at the latest iPad Pro models which were released in 2018.

That should be great news for some users since it may mean that the tablet will arrive with the iconic headphone port, a feature that has started to disappear in the recent years, as Bluetooth headsets and headphones continue to grow in popularity.

The Premium membership costs $9.99, and it will include all the Hulu TV shows and movies that are available through the most affordable service tier, which would cost $5.99 if bought separately.

In recent years, the number of people who prefer streaming services has continued to grow. Many people argue that the new streaming services are more affordable and convenient in comparison to traditional television services. A recent report notes that the number of US homes which aren’t using a cable or satellite service has increased by 48% in past years, reaching an approximate number of 16 million households. The new partnership between Spotify and Hulu will encourage more people to cancel their cable service while also helping the two companies to gain an edge over direct competitors like Apple Music and Netflix.

If the price changes in the future Spotify will send a notification via email, and users will be able to remove the bundle by visiting the Spotify Account page at any time. As with all deals that sound too good to be true, there are a few details written in small print. The offer is available while supplies last and it may end before the announced date. Only Spotify Premium subscribers would benefit from this promotion, so those that use a Spotify family account won’t access the Hulu bundle.

New Unc0ver Jailbreak For iOS 12-12.1.2 Support for A12-A12X, and 2018 iPads

The last Unc0ver jailbreak tool was released last month for iPhones and iPads that run iOS 12, 12.1.1 beta 3, and iOS 12.1.2, and iPhone/iPad users were able to enjoy the jailbreak on their phones. Now thanks to the dev team at Unc0ver, more iPhones can get the jailbreak.

The jailbreak tool only worked for devices that had A8X up to A11 processors. This means that the iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pros couldn’t use the Unc0ver tool, until now.

The latest update from Developer @pwn20wnd on Twitter tells us about the Unc0ver v3.0.0 public beta 44 which has ‘partial’ support for the A12 and A12X devices. This means all the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR, as well as all the iPad Pro models powered by A12,  will be supported by the tool very soon.

The public beta comes with more than partial support for these devices. It also comes with a beta 45 for public testing, adding a fix for the voucher_swap exploit. The new beta version of Unc0ver jailbreak tool can be found on GitHub. Bear in mind that this is a beta version so it can have bugs and you may experience some issues. The tool is mainly released for developers or for those that want to risk jailbreaking their devices.

Developers might want access to this tool to create or optimize jailbreak tweaks for iOS 12. They will have access to the root filesystem on A12 and A12X devices with the Unc0ver v3.0.0 public beta 44.

Partial Support – What Does It Mean?

If you were wondering what ‘partial support’ means, then you must know that the tool works on the iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR or the iPad Pros, you can install it, but you can’t tweak the devices because it doesn’t support Cydia. You won’t be able to install jailbreak tweaks from Cydia, and Saurik hasn’t yet stated if or when they will add Cydia support for the latest devices.

Public users will only benefit from the version after it gets support from Cydia. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about this in the coming days.
