GTA 5 Surpassed Fallout 76 In 2018, Ending Another Excellent Year

Fallout 76 was one of the most sought-after games of the year, but, unfortunately for Bethesda, it was a disaster regarding sales. On the other hand, the famous GTA 5, a game released by Rockstar Games in 2013, sold more copies in 2018 than Fallout 76.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is still a popular title among gamers, and since 2013 it has been selling better than the majority of the games released between 3013 and 2018. And that’s a significant achievement for Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, the two companies behind the title, which are now reportedly working on GTA 6.

GTA 5 Surpassed Fallout 76 In 2018, Ending Another Excellent Year

As reported by the market research firm The NPD Group, in November, Bethesda’s title, Fallout 76, was only the fourth best-selling game of that month. In November, Battlefield 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2, sold better than Fallout 76. However, throughout the year, GTA 5 sold more copies than Fallout 76.

GTA 5 has been in the news many times lately, in particular, thanks to its outstanding sales in comparison with other games. On the other hand, Fallout 76, which has been launched recently, though, did not have a good start compared to other releases this year and even with Grand Theft Auto 5.

GTA 6 Will Be The Next Installment In The Famous Series

Reportedly, Rockstar Games and Take-Tow Interactive are already working on the next release, Grand Theft Auto 6. According to rumors, GTA 6 would come out by 2022. Also, some recent GTA 6 leaks indicated that the sequel would come back to Vice City and would feature a female main character for the first time in the history of the franchise.

According to other rumors, Grand Theft Auto 6 would actually boast all the previous cities in the GTA series, or at least it would come out with two maps.

In the meantime, Rockstar Games celebrates another excellent year for GTA 5 which succeeded to sell more copies than Fallout 76, one of the most sought-after of 2018.

GTA 6 New Dateline to be Chosen by Rockstar

The team behind the game still think about what the next version of the game should be and when will it be released. There are many rumors on the internet, some say it will make its appearance next year, some that it will be released in 2020, or sometime later, perhaps in 2022. Whatever the date, the rumors will still surface, and speculation will be everywhere, about the characters and the gameplay. Other people keep asking about is the time when GTA 6 will be framed in. It’s worth mentioning that there have been some political thoughts that came as a reaction to the last game, GTA 5, that reflected the American society in a certain way – some people were not very pleased with this idea.

Will the company make the right decision?

There were some suggestions about the effect of the gameplay. The elements on the next game may be done with a certain motif in mind, that might be more evocative of the 1970s’ USA, rather than what they’re going with right now. Both Democrats and Republicans were not happy with it, so the team behind the game might play safe for their next game, and may leave out controversy of all kinds.

There’s another theory that says that South America will be the prominent idea of the game, but other parts of the USA, such as Vice City, will still be in the picture. Some even believe that the entire country will appear on the map.

A female main character

It’s been also said that there will be a female protagonist. Opinions are everywhere at this moment, but some sources say that they won’t leave out this idea, because it has true importance to the main theme and the storyline.

GTA 6 can learn some lesson from Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar games are famous for releasing franchises which became very popular in the entire world. Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption are two names that everybody knows. These games offer players intense experiences and the possibility to step into a world where they can let their imagination run wild.

The games’ worldwide success led to releasing newer and improved versions every time. Now, we have come to GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption 2, editions that promise to become blockbusters in the gaming industry.

So far, we found out that we shouldn’t expect to see the 6th version of Grand Theft Auto until 2022. Experts from the gaming industry say that the big launch was postponed because developers wanted to give Red Dead Redemption their full attention.

Also, they might have wanted to give the following generation of consoles enough time to make its way on the market. In any case, we can be sure that Rockstar is definitely working on creating the best experience for gamers who will play GTA 6.

Red Dear Redemption 2 can be an example for Grand Theft Auto 6

Despite the fact that the two franchises are very different, they feature similar gaming styles. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 is already launched, it can serve as learning material for the upcoming GTA.

Here’s what developers should consider while working on the 6th version of Grand Theft Auto:

  1. Dead Eye can be used for saving the Middling Gunplay;
  2. It’s extremely important to customize your game as much as possible;
  3. The rethink feature is very important for controls;
  4. Like in every other case, small details can make a difference;
  5. More emphasis should be put on the side content;
  6. There are a lot of women who play games, so there should be strong females in leading positions;
  7. Don’t neglect the importance of a ”beautiful gore”;
  8. Gamers really appreciate the possibility to enjoy the Open World’s diversity throughout the game;
  9.  It’s easier to reward a single protagonist;
  10. Players should be allowed to set their personal Pace.

Grand Theft Auto 6 – Developer Thankful That The Game Doesn’t Come Out In Today’s Political Climate

Rockstar Games are pretty busy right now. Red Dead Redemption 2 has just been released, the online component for GTA 5 is still going strong with the public and in a few weeks we are going to see the launch of Red Dead Redemption Online. However, everybody thinks about GTA 6 and when we are going to see it.

The state of the political climate is an influence

The co-founder of the studio, Dan Houser, went on record with the UK version of GQ and he said that we won’t be seeing GTA 6 too soon, if the political climate doesn’t begin to settle down.

The interview

When GQ asked him for details, he said: “It’s really unclear what we would even do with it, let alone how upset people would get with whatever we did. Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry.”

“It is scary but it’s also strange, and yet both of them seem occasionally to veer towards the absurd. It’s hard to satirize for those reasons. Some of the stuff you see is straightforwardly beyond satire. It would be out of date within two minutes, everything is changing so fast,” he continued.

It makes stance

The words of Houser strike close to home. The GTA series has often made fun at the American culture for decades, using it for either plot inspiration or to set the atmosphere in its games. Grand Theft Auto became such a successful franchise because of it, but the current state of the world won’t allow this formula to work.

Problems in real life

GTA used social jokes to improve the gaming experience, but what were once jokes, now they are sensitive subjects of debate. The game simply won’t feel like satire, so it might not work as well as its past iterations. We just have to see if things improve.

Grand Theft Auto 5 – Rockstar Fixes the Getting Killed in Single Player Mode Issue

Many Grand Theft Auto 5 players were complaining that an exploit would allow modders to kick or kill other players. They could do that in either the single player or the multiplayer mode which got numerous players annoyed.

According to FriendlyBaron, a Reddit user, the PC exploit was enabled due to an error in the new menu. It would show users’ Rockstar Social Club ID numbers of other fellow players. Using certain tricks and tool, players could use that information to change the game of another one’s including killing them whenever they wanted. The fact that they were not with the certain player would not stop them.

While playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and streaming on Twitch, FriendlyBaron was hit by the exploit. His character left the vehicle they were driving and instantly died with no in-game reasoning. While writing his explanation post, he mentioned that he was harassed earlier in the week by the person who did that to his game.

Finally, with all the proofs they needed, Rockstar has already patched the exploit, and now PC players will no longer have their Grand Theft Auto 5 gaming experienced bothered or even ruined either in multiplayer or single player mode. At least…not from outside the game.

Another interesting fact about what is happening in Grand Theft Auto 5 is that people are developing cheating codes. Two Australian homes were searched as part of an investigation regarding the distribution of the cheat called “Infamous.” This cheat would let users copy objects, increase their wealth, and get unlimited ammunition along with many other benefits. However, the investigation is still running as it is not easy to identify the developers of the cheat code.
