Android Dark Mode Revealed To Some Google Pixel 3 Users In The Update Menu

The dark mode has become very popular in recent years, and it is now available on most flagship devices. From saving battery when you are using your device during the night (while also keeping your eyes safe) to a mere personalization choice, dark mode is a feature which has managed to build a strong fan base.

The mode is available on Pixel 3 devices, and some users have reported that it may have found its way to new features. Some users have captured screenshots and pictures of an unusual Android update screen, which appear to use a slightly different dark mode. The images were posted on a popular forum platform, sparking the curiosity of thousands of users who rushed to share their opinion on the subject.

Usually, Google prefers to employ a variety of greys with its dark mode. The images reveal a pure black menu, with only the text and the buttons being white. That has attracted widespread criticism as some users claim that the screen may have been faked with the help of a custom theme or by opting to activate the color inversion feature which can be found in the settings menu (and which produces a similar result, according to users which tried to replicate the results).

Some Google Pixel 3 users are puzzled by a mysterious Android dark mode update menu

The person who started the thread shared another screenshot in which the multitask menu appears, proving that he or she didn’t activate the color inversion feature.

Others have also noted that they were greeted by the same screen and they use the latest Google Plays Services version (16.0.81). It is also argued that the theme may be linked to the Device theme setting which is available on Google Pixel devices.

Another round of debates was sparked after some users who run the same Play Services version said that they didn’t encounter the Android dark mode update screen. They argue that it may occur if people are running a beta version of the Play Services. Google has recently released an update which changed how the update menu looks like, making it more similar to the Material Design theme.

New Pokemon Game Might Be Announced For Nintendo Switch During Today’s Nintendo Direct

Nintendo has teased a Pokemon-related announcement which is a planet to take place during the latest Nintendo Direct, scheduled for today, February 27th, at 9 AM ET. Accordingly, it could be something about a new Pokemon game.

The Pokemon media franchise began its life in 1996 when Pokemon Red and Green were released in Japan for the portable Game Boy console. The games were a hit among players, leading to the development of a juggernaut which has become one of the most best-selling franchises of all time (toppled only by Nintendo’s Mario).

The player character is a Pokemon or Pocket Monster trainer, tasked with becoming the best in their region by competing in the Pokemon League and becoming a champion. On their journey, trainers will use Poke Balls to capture wild Pokemon which can be encountered throughout the world. In the classic games, they will have to battle the Pokemon first and then attempt to catch them with the help of the Poke Balls. In Pokemon GO and the Pokemon Let’s Go titles players can throw the balls directly, without the need to battle the Pokemon.

Captured Pokemon can be used in fights against a rival trainer, and each victory will allow them to gain experience points. Once a threshold is reached the Pokemon will level-up, earning new skills at select levels, or evolving into a more powerful form.

New Pokemon Game Might Come To Nintendo Switch Soon

The CEO of the Pokemon Company has previously declared that a new entrance in the series will be released during the second half of 2019. It was also mentioned that the new title would be the most beautiful one in the series when it comes to graphics, as it will be able to harness the full capabilities of the Nintendo Switch console.

Some of the fans hope that the long-awaited Generation 8 will also make an appearance since it is already known that new Pokemon will be featured during the game. Unlike recent titles, the potentially upcoming Pokemon game is targeted at the hardcore fan base, featuring many of the options that aren’t available in Pokémon Go, for example.

Pokemon Go Receives Smeargle, And You Can Capture It Using The New “Go Snapshot” Feature

Niantic releases constant updates for Pokemon Go, and the game receives numerous new additions, including events, Pokemon, and others. This time, Smeargle has become available in Pokemon GO. Players can now catch this Generation 2 Pokemon using the newly added Go Snapshot feature.

It is exciting to see Smeargle join the game, as we didn’t know whether his abilities could particular to Pokemon Go. Smeargle comes in the game with the Sketch skill which allows it to copy the powers of other Pokemon monsters. It is easy to understand why this could be a problem for the game, and it took some time until developers added this Generation 2 Pokemon to Pokemon Go.

Here’s how to capture Smeargle in Pokemon Go using the new Go Snapshot feature

To catch Smeargle, you must use the Go Snapshot. That means that you will have to become a photographer for a while. If you continue to take photos, you might spot Smeargle in one of them. After the Pokemon shows up in one of your photos, you should also see a catchable Smeargle show up in the wild.

If you manage to capture Smeargle, you should know that his original ability is a bit different in Pokemon Go. You will also have a chance to use the Go Snapshot feature when it comes to its particular skill. After you captured Smeargle, you can use the Go Snapshot function to take photos of other Pokemon so that Smeargle can “Sketch” their abilities.

You should also know that it is not possible to get all the abilities of other Pokemon. For instance, Ditto’s Transform special skill is not transferable. You need to select a Pokemon with abilities you want to copy and sketch it. Basically, this allows you to create some sort of copy of that Pokemon. However, keep in mind that Smeargle’s CP doesn’t go over 500.

Chex Quest HD Would Come Out Soon, Reviving The Famous 90’s Classic Game

If you were a kid in the 90s, you must remember Chex Quest. The game was released with millions of boxes of Chex cereals, and it was hugely successful back then, as all children were playing it. Miss the game? We have some good news for you. The game will receive an HD remake. The trailer for the game was already released. If you are ready to take a trip to the past, you can watch the complete Chex Quest HD trailer at the end of this article.

“In 1996 the advergame Chex Quest was released as a prize inside of millions of boxes of Chex breakfast cereal,” the developers explained on their Facebook page. “It was essentially a kid-friendly Doom total conversion telling the story of the Chex Warrior who travels across the galaxy to rescue the cereal people from the evil inter-dimensional Flemoids. It was considered a very successful promotion in its time and the game gained a cult following that persists to this day.”

Chex Quest HD Will Use Unreal Engine 4

To recreate that classic game the team will use Unreal Engine 4. Chex Quest HD will remain faithful to the original, and it will feature the same things so that nothing feels different. “It will feature all of the same ‘weapons,’ enemies, power-ups and levels from the original,” developers added. “The levels will be redesigned in regards to their layouts, but the themes and overall aesthetics will be consistent with the original levels.”

Another thing that you should know is that volunteers create this Chex Quest remake. They are not paid for their work, and they can develop their game only in their spare time, which makes it easy to understand why it will take longer than usual for Chex Quest HD to come out. More than that, the game will be available for free.

OnePlus 7 Won’t Come Out With Wireless Charging, Disappointing The Fans

It is not the first time OnePlus decides not to introduce wireless charging in an outcoming phone, and it is also the case of the forthcoming OnePlus 7, as well. Pete Lau, the CEO of the company, during an interview with Roger Cheng from CNET, offered the fans of their products some pre-release information that would keep them waiting without losing their enthusiasm.

When asked about wireless charging, Pete Lau did not hesitate to address the question. Even though it has been widely requested before as OnePlus fans have been waiting for the possibility to charge their OnePlus smartphones without using a cord, OnePlus 7 will disappoint the fans.

The company’s CEO stated that the charging OnePlus has is one of the best, offering there a reference to the Warp Charge standard of the company which in approximately 20 minutes can charge OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, the latest phone of the company, to 50 percent.

OnePlus 7 Won’t Come Out With Wireless Charging

According to Pete Lau, fans are asking for something far inferior because wireless charging can’t even get close to what the Warp Charge standard is offering. However, as companies should also listen to the feedback provided by the people who buy their products, Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, mentioned (not for the first time) that the company is still looking into granting its fans’ wish.

They are working on a wireless charging solution that would provide both fast and reliable charging. As mentioned before, the company will not add inductive charging to any of their phones, including OnePlus 7, until they are sure that the solution they create does not generate excess heat, an obstacle that keeps bothering them.

Pete Lau has also been asked about the new Quick Charge wireless charging platform from Qualcomm, but he decided not to comment on that topic. OnePlus 7 fans heard this type of news before, but the disappointment is still there.
