How to Speed Up Windows 7 PC

Having problems with your PC’s running speed? You can now optimize and make it run faster. In this tutorial, we’ll be showing you exclusive workaround on how to speed up Windows 7 PC.

Most Windows users still run on Windows 7, which is basically due to its relative ease of use. However, it is prone to various degrees of speed-reducing errors/issues.

To resolve this, we’ll be showing you simple guides on how to improve the running speed of Windows 7 PCs.

How to Speed Up Windows 7 PC

With issues like limited disk space (leading to congestion), multiple startup programs, and/or disk fragmentation among others, you are bound to experience system lag (reduced running speed) on your PC.

To resolve this and speed up your computer, you can employ one, some or all of the methods outlined herein.

Method 1: Troubleshoot performance

Windows hosts an inbuilt performance troubleshooter, which is designed to identify and fix problems or bugs associated with reduced system performance.

To run the performance troubleshooter on Windows 7, follow the guidelines below:

  • Open Start menu: click on the ‘Windows’ icon on your screen.
  • Select Control Panel.
  • Key in “troubleshooter” in the search panel and press Enter.
  • Select Troubleshooting from the displayed search results.
  • Navigate to the System and Security section and select Check for performance issues.
  • Follow the prompt commands to finish up the process.

This action will reveal & fix any bug or system/security issue causing the system lag.

Method 2: Hard disk defragmentation & cleanup

Many times, hard disk fragmention puts too much pressure on your system and consequently makes it run slower. If unaddressed, this could lead to eventual system crash.

To fix this issue, simply defragment (separate into fragments) your PC’s hard disk, using a disk defragmenter to reorganize fragmented files. You can also defragment your hard disk manually.

Also, in the event that your disk space becomes choked up, you can easily clean up your hard disk to create more space. This would significantly improve your PC’s performance and running speed.

Method 3: Other Methods

Other methods to try in speeding up Windows 7 PC include:

  • Restarting PC
  • Scanning and clearing up malwares/spywares/ransomware
  • Limiting startup programs
  • Disabling virtual display
  • Resetting/reducing virtual memory
  • Removing big-sized redundant programs and files
  • And more.

Minecraft Earth AR Game To Mimic The Pokemon Go Style

Microsoft has officially revealed its new augmented reality (AR) Minecraft game which mimics the theme of Pokemon Go. The Minecraft Earth game’s disclosure comes after a taunting announcement midst their Build 2019 keynote.

The unveiling was made a couple of days ago, on May 17th, as the game celebrated its 10th anniversary. Microsoft reports that Minecraft Earth’s first beta will be released sometime this summer, June to August, with pre-registration accessible at the moment on Minecraft Earth’s official website.

There is a specific detail that makes Minecraft Earth so different from all the other augmented reality games, for instance, Pokemon Go or even Harry Potter Wizards Unite. The feature consists in the fact that rather than accumulating or fighting classic monsters, Microsoft’s new game is placing a high focus on collaborative building, in other words, the exact same thing that made Minecraft so legendary, to begin with.

Minecraft Earth AR Game To Mimic The Pokemon Go Style

As claimed by previous details of Microsoft’s upcoming title, players will have to gather resources while going around their neighborhoods. These districts can then be utilized in construction projects on a small scale with their friends, or life-sized partnerships with everyone else in the area.

However, even if the base of the game appears to be made around the construction aspect, there will be a survival perspective to the Minecraft Earth as well. The survival aspect involves warding off creeps, and a breeding system where mobs, which is the game’s term for animals, can be hybridized to form new fantastic creatures for the player’s private or also public creations.

As said by Microsoft’s on-point FAQ, Minecraft Earth will be a ‘free-to-play’ game. The developer doesn’t want to incorporate any sort of loot box scheme into the game either, but some type of micro-transactions is most likely to appear in the Microsoft’s augmented reality game, perhaps sometime later.

Former The Last of Us Part II Game Designer Joins Microsoft’s Game Studio The Initiative

When the Studio Head of Game Studio The Initiative announced that developers like Brian Westergaard, Annie Lohr, Blake Fischer, Drew Murray (Insomniac), Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption designer), Tom Shephard (GTA V developer), and Lindsey McQueeney were joining their ranks, we could only think of one fact: a great game will come to Xbox sooner or later.

Last year, Microsoft founded The Initiative to build quality games that will be exclusive – think of Uncharted and God of War. Now looking at the lineup above, these developers have the resources to make it possible, considering they worked on triple-A games before.

Robert Ryan Joins The Initiative Team

Now another leader has been added to The Initiative, and it’s none other than Robert Ryan, former Naughty Dog, and The Motive Game Designer.

The news surfaced thanks to a post by Twitter user “Klobrille,” who wrote:

Another great talent for XGS. Former Naughty Dog and The Motive Game Designer Robert Ryan joined The Initiative as a Senior Systems Designer.

He added a screenshot of Ryan’s LinkedIn profile which shows that he is now the Senior Systems Designer at The Initiative.

Why is everyone hyped about Robert Ryan joining Microsoft’s first-party game studio? Well, he was behind games like The Last of Us: Part II, Uncharted 4, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us.

It seems that The Initiative is looking for experienced people and we really hope to see what they’ve been working on so far. Maybe we will see some of it at E3 2019, although it would be a little too soon.

Nonetheless, Gallagher recently added that The Initiative would experiment with different games, so they’re “staying small” and “staying agile.”

One thing is true: The Initiative has a team that could easily compete with Rockstar Games or other devs like CD Projekt Red. Whatever The Initiative team is working on, we expect to see it in the next few years, and it better be breathtaking!

Minecraft AR Game Teased By Microsoft

Microsoft has teased a new Minecraft AR game, and some users will be surprised. A new teaser has been trailed, and it seems that an augmented reality title will be announced in the following weeks.

During the short video, we can see two persons, a male, and a female, who sit on a bench, and their smartphones are placed within them. When the man leaves, he takes the woman’s smartphone by mistake. The woman picks up the device and unlocks the screen. We can see a few sights over-imposed on the camera image, including a pig and some villagers, Microsoft has teased a mixed reality version of the game for the HoloLens.

At first sight, the game looks quite similar to the favorite Niantic games, as it seamlessly mixes the real and digital world. A reliable source has already claimed that the title is currently in development under the codename of Genoa.

Microsoft teased a new Minecraft AR game

Microsoft purchased the popular IP for 2.5 billion. In 2015 the CEO of the company declared that one of the main attractions was the fact that the IP has excellent potential for augmented reality spin-offs.

The date of the announcement is May 17, which is quite essential since it marks the 10th anniversary of the title. A special event has been scheduled for the same date, and Microsoft has decided to exclude Notch, the creator of the game, from the activity due to a series of controversial statements and tweets.

This isn’t the only upcoming Minecraft game as Mojang has also announced Minecraft Dungeons, a dungeon-crawling game inspired by classic PC titles. Unlike the main title, this game is more focused on action, with the accent placed on co-operative exploration. A release date is not available at this point. Minecraft has remained the most popular game in the world, and the title is available across several platforms. It is estimated that more than 91 million players enjoy the title each month.
