Clash Royale Update Coming in Mid-April: New Game Modes And More

We’ve seen a lot of action and updates in Clash of Clans, but what about Clash Royale? To be fair, we did get some balance changes on April 1 to some troops, but players also want new content.

Fear not, the Clash Royale team has announced on Twitter that they’ve been up to no good this past week and that they’re preparing an update for mid-April.

We headed over to the team’s Reddit post and discovered some of the new stuff that will be added to the game this month:

  •     A new, streamlined progression system for Ladder (1v1)
  •     New game modes

More to be revealed at a later date…

Among other stuff that will be tweaked or introduced, we will also get a new challenge every 48 hours starting with Tuesday, the team adding that it “will be a great chance to earn rewards ahead of the update.”

Also, when the update goes live, CRL 20 Win profile badges will be received.

The Clash Royale team explained that this update will not come next week, but it’s bound to roll out in Mid-April. While they didn’t want to reveal more details about the content of the update, the fact that there will be more game modes is pretty exciting. The progression system will make players want to give it a chance once again, explained Drew:

We’re hoping that this new update will remove some of that ‘i need time away from ladder’ feeling that a lot of players have!

Clan Wars 2.0 – “Big Plans For This”

As for what we should expect in the future, but not this update, it will be Clan Wars 2.0, according to another comment from Drew, explaining why they’re not adding Clan Wars 2.0 in this update:

Not this update, sorry! we have big plans for this and it didn’t make sense to do at the same time as a big 1v1 experience change.

Although the wait could be significant, knowing that the team wants to make Clan Wars 2.0 perfect and that they “have big plans for this” is great news.

Check back for more Clash Royale updates, which are bound to be announced the next week!

Clash of Clans April Update: Hidden Changes Revealed

Eagle-eyed Clash of Clans players might have noticed some other changes in the game that were brought by the April update. Those that didn’t check out the new things introduced by the Supercell CoC developer team are going to be in for a treat! Today we will not talk about all the spring update changes and features (you can check them out here).

We will focus on several hidden and small changes that cannot be easily noticed.

Some 3D Heroes

We learned that the hero skins introduced with the Clash of Clans Season Challenges have also brought 3D Heroes so that the devs can easily develop many skins in the future. But at a closer look, you will see that some Heroes are not in 3D yet!

Notice the Grand Warden? Don’t worry; he’ll get a 3D look soon in a future update.

No More Naps!

Our Heroes would take a nap to regenerate the health. Now they’ve changed it into a different stance: they take the knee! Is it because we’re getting close to the Game of Thrones season? Maybe, maybe not. Nonetheless, I believe it’s a much more appropriate way to show that the hero is taking a break.

Tap on the Queen

If you tap on the Queen, she will wave at you! That’s cute…

The visual for the Barbarian King and Archer Queen will not change when you upgrade them anymore, because of the 3D model. This makes it a little difficult to differentiate their levels.

Dark Clouds

To activate this feature, you must go to Preferences -> More Setting – > Use Dark Clouds. The Cloud Fix (Operation Blue Skies) is scheduled for the first half of this year.

A New Rank: Clan War League

There’s a new tab with a rank – Clan War League, which will soon be added to the game.

League Medals Rewards limit was increased to 2.500.

Finally, to get more suggestions from the Builder Suggestions tab, scroll down and see what other upgrades you have available.

That would be all with the spring update for Clash of Clans.

If you haven’t updated the game yet, make sure you do it by using either Google Play or if you want the Clash of Clans APK file, head over to APK Mirror and look for Clash of Clans 11.446.15 APK file – which was uploaded on April 4 by Supercell.

Add Public Events on Google Maps: Android Feature Goes Live

For those that use Google Maps regularly, you might have noticed a handy feature that appeared in the Android app.

Google Maps for Android now lets users add a public event in the Contribute Tab. Using Google Maps’ new feature can let business and event managers make public their next events without the need of paying for advertising. It takes nearly 30 minutes to make that event live once it was added on Google Maps.

The new feature is only available for Android users at the moment. Now let’s see how you can set your public event in the short guide below.

Google Maps: Add a Public Event

Looking at the support page from Google, we can see that the feature is not live in all regions, so if you don’t see it, then you’ll have to wait for your region to be added. To see the option and add a public event, follow the next steps:

  • open Google Maps on Android -> go to the tab Contribute -> tap on Events, then tap on Add a public event.

In there, you will get a few choices: you can tag the location, add the event name, and the time and date of the event.

The option also lets you add an image and write more details about the event and even describe it. However, there have been reports of the image option being unresponsive.

Save the event, and if you want, even after you have created the event, you can edit or delete it by going to:

  • Contribute -> Events -> Select your event -> Edit this event / Delete this event.

We don’t know yet if this feature will be globally available or if it will also go live on Google Maps for iPhone users.

Google Maps Changes, New Features and More

According to Debate Report, Google Street View now lets you watch “Mars on Earth,” and it’s definitely not what we expected.

Google has also made a few changes to the Maps for Android, reintroducing city, state and country borders, after being removed a few months ago. When a user searches a city, state or country, they will see the borders highlighted with red. According to reports, this border feature has appeared in version 10.12.1.

Apple Streaming Service Might Be Revealed Today

Apple is about innovation, and the company has always managed to reinvent itself and bring new things. It appears that Apple is ready to make another step, and it seems that the company is planning to get into the television business. While not many details are available, the launch of a new Apple streaming service is expected.

The biggest clue is the fact that J.J. Abrams (director of Star Wars), Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Aniston are expected to show up at an Apple event. “It seems fairly obvious they are launching a new video service,” declared Techsponential technology market analyst Avi Greengart.

Will Apple streaming service be successful?

Apple has released mostly successful products, and it has loyal customers. However, when it comes to streaming, the company might discover that there is plenty of competition. It is hard to tell whether Apple will be able to bring something new. “If the content is compelling enough, people will subscribe,” Greengart adds. “This is not new, but it is hard to do well.”

However, Apple has millions of users that it can count on, which is a significant advantage.

“Apple’s business model is essentially a subscription business model,” explains analyst Laura Martin. “Apple’s access to more than 900 million unique users globally, most of them among the wealthiest individuals in the world, plus its culture of creating hardware and services with proven commercial appeal makes it well-positioned.”

Apple needs this streaming service

There is a chance that Apple desperately needs a new successful product. The iPhone sales numbers aren’t disclosed anymore, and it appears that the smartphones aren’t selling as well as Apple hoped to.

An Apple streaming service would help the company expand their market, and it will be “a pivotal step for Cupertino-based firm in further driving its services flywheel and entering the ‘streaming content arms race’ which is clearly starting to take form,” according to Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities.
